Queen (American Automobile)
The Queen was a Brass Era car, Brass Era American automobile manufactured between 1904 and 1907 in Detroit, Michigan. History Carl H. Blomstrom was an engineer who built his first experimental car in 1897 and a second one in 1899. Blomstrom (1902-1903) Blomstrom became a manufacturer in 1902 of a small Single-cylinder engine, single-cylinder Runabout (car), runabout. By the end of 1903 he had built 25 of these Blomstrom cars that would become the basis for the Queen introduced in 1904. Queen (1904-1907) In 1904 the C.H. Blomstrom Motor Company was established and Blomstrom renamed his car the Queen. The Queen began as a runabout with a one-cylinder engine developing an impressive 8-Horsepower, hp. Car De Luxe
The Car de Luxe was an American automobile manufactured from 1906 until 1910. A sister marque to the Queen (American automobile), Queen, the Car de Luxe had overhead valves which were operated by one rocker per cylinder. The 40/50 hp, 6755 cc car was actuated by a "push-pull" rod and an unusual back axle; the load was further taken by an I-beam dead axle which carried a separate differential (mechanical device), differential unit. The Brass Era Rex cyclecar was manufactured by the Rex Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan in 1914. History C. H. Blomstrom had been involved with the Queen, Blomstrom, Gyroscope, Car De Luxe and the Lion when he turned to developing a cyclecar. Unusual for cyclecars, the Rex had front-wheel drive.
