Quebec Route 327
Route 327 is a provincial highway located in the Laurentides region of Quebec. The 90-kilometer highway runs from St-André-d'Argenteuil at the junction of Route 344 to Mont-Tremblant just west of the Provincial Park of the same name. The route serves as the main connection between Argenteuil county and the popular tourist region of the Upper Laurentides. In Lachute it is briefly concurrent with Highway 148 (across a bridge). It is also concurrent with Route 364 between Weir and Arundel. Significant portions of this highway are meandering and have a maximum speed limit of 70 km/h. Grenville-sur-la-Rouge is a municipality in the Argenteuil Regional County Municipality in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada. It is a predominantly Francophone community situated along the southern border of Quebec between Montreal and Ottawa. Most of the population of just over 2,800 live in a rural setting; the villages of Calumet and Pointe-au-Chêne comprise under 1,000 residents in total. Geography Grenville-sur-la-Rouge covers a rectangular area along the shore of the Ottawa River and extends northward into the foothills of the Laurentian Mountains. Lac-Supérieur, Quebec
Lac-Supérieur is a municipality in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada, part of the Les Laurentides Regional County Municipality. It is named after Lake Superior (''Lac Supérieur'') which is located in the Laurentian Mountains, due east of Mont Tremblant Resort. The community of Lac-Supérieur is just south of the lake, which itself is ringed with cottages. The entire northern portion of the municipality is mostly undeveloped and part of the Mont-Tremblant National Park. History The municipality was formed in 1881 and initially named Wolfe, in tribute to British General James Wolfe. Its first settlers were Canadians repatriated from California and the western United States. Mirabel is a suburb of Montreal, located on the North Shore in southern Quebec. Saint-Placide, Quebec
Saint-Placide is a municipality in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada, part of the Deux-Montagnes Regional County Municipality, along the north shore of the Ottawa River. History In 1780, the first European settlers arrived here. In 1848, the Parish of Saint-Placide was formed when it was separated from the parish of Saint-Benoît. The new parish name was undoubtedly chosen because Saint Placide, a monk of the sixth century, was a disciple of Saint Benedict. In 1853, its post office opened, and in 1855, the Parish Municipality of Saint-Placide was formed. A wharf, built in 1867, allowed vessels of the Ottawa River Navigation Company to take delivery of wheat at that time in the region. They are given along with their geographical codes as specified by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Regions and Land Occupancy, and the administrative regions to which they belong.
