Qubo Night Owl
This is a list of programs formerly broadcast by the now-defunct children's television channel Qubo in the United States, a children's network which existed from January 8, 2007 until February 28, 2021. Also detailed are Qubo-branded children's programming blocks which were carried by Ion (TV network), Ion Television and its subnetwork Ion Plus, Ion Life/Ion Plus, NBC, and Telemundo. The Qubo blocks ended on the Ion networks on February 26, 2021, and on NBC and Telemundo on July 1, 2012. Qubo
Qubo ( ; stylized as qubo) was an American television network for children between the ages of 5 and 14. Owned by Ion Media, it consisted of a 24-hour free-to-air television network often mentioned as the "Qubo channel" (available as a digital terrestrial television service on owned-and-operated stations and some affiliates of corporate sister Ion Television, as well as on some pay-TV providers), associated website with games and programs available through video on demand, and a weekly programming block on Ion Television, along with Ion Life, later known as Ion Plus. Following Ion Media's acquisition by the E. W. Scripps Company, it ceased operations on February 28, 2021. Jacob Two-Two (TV Series)
''Jacob Two-Two'' is a Canadian animated series based on the '' Jacob Two-Two'' books written by Mordecai Richler. The show first aired on September 7, 2003 on YTV in Canada. The show also aired on Qubo in the United States (being one of the first cartoons to have aired on Qubo) and on the French-language network VRAK.TV as ''Jacob Jacob''. After Jacob and his family moved to Montreal, he begins new challenges and stuff in his hometown. Jacob, his siblings, and his mother were named after Richler's children and wife. Nelvana and 9 Story Entertainment produced the series' 62 episodes in association with YTV and Salter Street Films. Funbag Animation Studios, Atomic Cartoons, and Nitrogen Studios provided animation. ''Rescue Heroes'' is an animated television series produced by Nelvana. Based on the Fisher-Price toy line of the same name, the television series tracks the adventures of a team of emergency responders who rescue people from various disasters. The series premiered in Canada on Teletoon on October 2, 1999, and ran for three seasons. On November 18, 2003, a film titled '' Rescue Heroes: The Movie'' was released, but became a final episode for the series. Pippi Longstocking (1997 TV Series)
''Pippi Longstocking'' is an animated television series produced by AB Svensk Filmindustri, TaurusFilm, TFC Trickompany Filmproduktion, and Nelvana based on the book series drawn and written by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. It is a joint Canadian-German-Swedish production. This was the first time that the popular character had been animated. A spin-off of the 1997 animated film of the same name, the series disregards the film and starts with a new storyline. Melissa Altro, Richard Binsley, Noah Reid, Olivia Garratt, Wayne Robson, Rick Jones, Philip Williams, Chris Wiggins and Karen Bernstein are the only voice cast reprising their roles from the 1997 film. ''Spliced'' is a Canadian animated television series produced by Nelvana in association with Teletoon that first aired from September 19, 2009 to March 13, 2010 in the United States. Plot ''Spliced'' is a modern take of H. G. Wells' 1896 science-fiction fantasy, ''The Island of Doctor Moreau''. Spliced marginally distorts Wells' characters in this modern twist by making the mutants the result of genetic experiments created by recombinant DNA rather than Wells' original vivisection process. As with the original story, these experimental results, plus one platypus not in the original story, live on an isolated tropical island that is called "Keep Away Island" in the cartoon. ''Pearlie'' is an animated comedy series based on the children's book series ''Pearlie the Park Fairy'' by Wendy Harmer. Pearlie is a co-production between Australian children's television producer Sticky Pictures and Canadian animation house Nelvana Limited. The series aired on Network Ten in Australia, YTV in Canada, Pop Girl in the United Kingdom, and Qubo in the United States. 26 episodes were produced. It premiered on December 31, 2005, at 5 pm ET/PT on Teletoon with a special 90-minute presentation of the first three episodes. The show is based on the book series of the same name by Lucy Cousins. The series aired for one season of 26 episodes, with each episode being made up of four segments.
