Quasar Padamsee
Quasar Thakore Padamsee (born 20 August 1978) is an Indian stage actor turned theatre director. Both his parents, Alyque Padamsee and Dolly Thakore, are renowned stage actors. His mother was a casting director for the Academy Award-winning film ''Gandhi'' in 1982. His father played the role of Jinnah in the same movie. He studied English literature at St. Xavier's College in Mumbai. Though he started his career following his father, as an adman, he soon switched full-time theatre by starting Mumbai based theatre company called QTP, with partners Arghya Lahiri, Christopher Samuel, Nadir Khan, Toral Shah and Vivek Rao. He played cricket for Singapore U-19 team that won the inaugural Tuanku Jaafar Cup. He was an effective left arm medium pacer. Since 1999, he has directed and produced over 20 plays with theatre company, QTP. He also works as a stage manager and lighting designer for the theatre productions. Alyque Padamsee
Alyque Padamsee (5 March 1928 – 17 November 2018) was an Indian theatre personality and ad film maker. He played Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the 1982 British period film ''Gandhi''. Besides being involved in Indian theatre as an actor and producer, Padamsee was an advertising professional who once headed the advertising company Lintas Bombay. Early life and education Padamsee was born in Bombay in 1928 into a traditional Khoja Muslim Ismaili family hailing from the Kutch region of Gujarat. Ancestors of Padamsee family originally belonged to the Charan community of Kutch who converted to Islam and joined Khoja caste. Dolly Thakore
Dolly Thakore is a veteran Indian theatre actress and casting director. Early life and career Dolly Thakore was born as Dolly Rawson at Kohat on 10 March 1943. Trained in radio and television with BBC London, she returned to India to become one of the leading newscasters and television hosts, interviewing prominent citizens from India and abroad. Thakore came into the limelight as News speaker in English for '' Mumbai Doordarshan'' at 8PM on TV. Jinnah
Muhammad Ali Jinnah (, ; born Mahomedali Jinnahbhai; 25 December 1876 – 11 September 1948) was a barrister, politician, and the founder of Pakistan.
