Q (TV Channel)
Q was a UK music channel based on Q Magazine, launched on 2 October 2000. It was operated by Box Television, and specialised in indie, rock and alternative. It was available in the UK on Sky channel 364 and Virgin Media channel 338. In Ireland, it was available on UPC Ireland channel 714 and in Iceland on Síminn. It is also available in South Africa on TopTV channel 503. The channel was also called ''Q The Music'' ( cue the music), which was the channel's slogan. The channel played a wide variety of music, predominantly bands like Snow Patrol, Coldplay, and Stereophonics. History Q was launched on 2 October 2000. On 2 April 2013, all The Box Plus Network channels went free-to-air on satellite, apart from 4Music which went free-to-view. On 8 January 2019, Channel 4 acquired Bauer Media Group's 50% stake in the company to take full ownership of The Box Plus Network. The same year in July, operations of Box Plus moved into Channel 4’s main business operations. The company was based in Victoria in London. Snow Patrol
Snow Patrol are a Northern Irish–Scottish Rock music, rock band formed in 1994 in Dundee, Scotland. They consist of Gary Lightbody (vocals, guitar), Nathan Connolly (guitar, backing vocals), Paul Wilson (musician), Paul Wilson (bass guitar, backing vocals), Jonny Quinn (drums), and Johnny McDaid (piano, guitar, backing vocals). Initially an indie rock band, Snow Patrol rose to prominence in the early– mid-2000s as part of the post-Britpop movement. Cue (theatrical)
A theatrical cue is the trigger for an action to be carried out at a specific time. It is generally associated with theatre and the film industry. They can be necessary for a lighting change or effect, a sound effect, or some sort of stage or set movement/change. Types Cues are generally given by the stage manager as a verbal signal over the headset system or backstage intercom, by a signal with a 'cue light' or by a show control system. There are 3 types of cues given. StarSat (formerly TopTV until 31 October 2013) is a South African direct broadcast satellite television service that began broadcasting on 1 May 2010. StarSat is operated by On Digital Media, who were granted a pay-TV license by ICASA in September 2007. On Digital Media is currently 20% owned by Luxembourgish satellite operator SES and 20% owned by Chinese company StarTimes.
