''Q2K'' is the seventh studio album by progressive metal band Queensrÿche, released on 14 September 1999. It was the only Queensrÿche studio album to feature guitarist Kelly Gray, who, in the early 1980s, was in a band called Myth with vocalist Geoff Tate. "Breakdown" was released as the first single off ''Q2K''. "The Right Side of My Mind" was released as the band's first music video since the album ''Promised Land'' and has had occasional airplay on VH1 Classic, which also premiered it in a special co-hosted by Geoff Tate. On August 29, 2006, Rhino Entertainment released an expanded & remastered edition of ''Q2K'' which included four bonus tracks. In Canada, the album was released by Anthem Records. Kelly Gray (musician)
Kelly Gray (born June 20, 1963) is an American record producer and guitarist. He currently plays in former Queensrÿche vocalist Geoff Tate's band Operation: Mindcrime. Career Gray grew up with his mother and brother Howard D. Gray in a rural area near Redmond, Washington. He started playing guitar in the late 1970s, learning the style of Ritchie Blackmore. He attended Redmond High School, and graduated there in the same year as Scott Rockenfield, with whom he would play in the bands Queensrÿche and Slave to the System. Gray founded the progressive metal band Myth together with his school friends, bassist Richard Gibson and drummer Jimmy Parsons, in the garage of Parson's parents, later moving to the basement of Gray's home. Initially playing cover songs, Myth soon switched to writing original material and worked with various singers until they went with Brent Young. London Bridge Studio is a recording studio near Seattle that has hosted and recorded many influential artists, producers and engineers since 1985. Founded by brothers Rick and Raj Parashar and now currently owned by producers Geoff Ott, Jonathan Plum, and Eric Lilavois. Geoff Tate (born Jeffrey Wayne Tate, January 14, 1959; he later changed his first name to Geoffery or Geoffrey) (Pp. 11, 48). is an American singer and songwriter. He rose to fame with the progressive metal band Queensrÿche, who had commercial success with their 1988 album '' Operation: Mindcrime'' and 1990 album ''Empire''. Tate is ranked fourteenth on ''Hit Parader''s list of the 100 Greatest Metal Vocalists of All Time. He was voted No. 2 on ''That Metal Show's'' top 5 hard rock vocalists of the 1980s. ''Tribe'' is the eighth studio album from the American progressive metal band Queensrÿche, released on 22 July 2003 in music, 2003. It was self-produced by Queensrÿche, with Scott Olson engineering and Adam Kasper mixing the album. With an impending deadline to deliver their next album, and the band's strained internal relationships leaving them short on material, a call was placed to former lead guitarist Chris DeGarmo to see if he would be interested in contributing songs to the project. After a meeting with Geoff Tate, he agreed and took part in the writing sessions, contributing the music to the songs "Falling Behind", "Doin' Fine" and "Art of Life", and co-writing the music to "Desert Dance" and "Open", and recording guitar parts. ''Hear in the Now Frontier'' is the sixth studio album by the American heavy metal band Queensrÿche, released in 1997. It was partly recorded at Studio Litho in Seattle, the home studio of Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard, and was engineered and mixed by Toby Wright, who had recently worked with Alice In Chains. The album debuted at No. 19 but quickly vanished from the charts. ''Hear in the Now Frontier'' features a more basic, stripped down musical style than anything the band had released to date. Many listeners criticized the band's shift to a more mainstream sound. Despite the reaction, the singles " Sign of the Times" and "You" received substantial airplay.
