Arthur Lincoln Quirk Jr. (April 11, 1938 – November 22, 2014) was an American professional baseball left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) who played two seasons for the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Senators. Amateur career A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Quirk attended Dartmouth College and graduated in 1959, after leading the Dartmouth Big Green baseball team pitching stats in the 1958 and 1959 seasons. In 1958, Quirk made his debut in the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL). He struck out 17 batters and batted 3-for-5 in his first game in which the Orleans Firebirds defeated the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Two weeks later, he threw a three-hitter and struck out 15. His season record was 9 wins and 0 losses with a 1.12 ERA and a league-leading .475 batting average. David Quirk (born 15 February 1981) is an actor and stand-up comedian based in Melbourne, Australia. Career Quirk has been performing stand-up comedy since 2002. Jim Quirk Sr. (born July 27, 1940) was an American football official in the National Football League (NFL) from the 1988 NFL season to the 2008 NFL season. Quirk, who wore uniform number 5, was notable for his hustle between plays on the football field, resulting in the length of games being shortened. Graham Quirk (born c. 1958) is a former Australian politician who served as the 16th Lord Mayor of Brisbane. From 2008 until 2011, he was Deputy Lord Mayor under Campbell Newman, succeeding the latter when Newman became the Premier of Queensland. Daniel Michael Quirk (July 19, 1982 – May 28, 2005) was an American professional wrestler, known by his ring name Spider, who competed in several Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic independent promotions including Assault Championship Wrestling, Chikara, the Millennium Wrestling Federation, the National Wrestling Alliance, World Wrestling Alliance and World Xtreme Wrestling.
