Quezon Memorial Station
Quezon Memorial station is an under-construction Manila Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station situated on Line 7 and the proposed Line 8. It is located within the Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City. Close landmarks include the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center, Department of Agriculture Building, Quezon City Hall, Department of Agrarian Reform Building, the National Housing Authority (Philippines) and PTV Complex. History The groundbreaking ceremony for the Manila Metro Rail Transit System Line 7 took place at the site of the Quezon Memorial station on April 20, 2016. During development of the station, the Quezon City government suspends above-ground construction on February 18, 2020 as the proposed structure is claimed to damage the park's integrity. Elliptical Road
The Elliptical Road is a roundabout in Quezon City which circumscribes the Quezon Memorial Circle, a large park. It was named after its elliptical shape. The spinning in this roundabout is in a counterclockwise direction. The road is divided into 8 lanes, wherein 3 are the main lanes, 4 lanes are for exiting vehicles with one lane for bicycles and pedicabs. This area of Quezon City is called "PHILCOA", after the Philippine Coconut Authority or PHILCOA, one of the government agencies headquartered there. The Metro Rail Transit Line 7, also known as MRT Line 7 or MRT-7, is a rapid transit line under construction in the Philippines. When completed, the line will be long, with 14 stations, and the first line to have a third rail electrification. The line runs in a northeast–southwest direction, beginning at San Jose del Monte, Bulacan up to the North Triangle Common Station in North Avenue, Quezon City, North Avenue, Quezon City. First planned in 2001 and approved in 2004, the 25-year concession agreement was signed in 2008 between the Philippine government and the project's original proponent, Universal LRT Corporation. The Quezon Memorial Circle is a national park located in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The park is located inside a large traffic circle in the shape of an ellipse and bounded by the Elliptical Road and is the main park of Quezon City (which served as the official capital of the Philippines from 1948 to 1976). Its main feature is a tall mausoleum containing the remains of Manuel L.
