Queens Park Community School (commonly abbreviated to QPCS) is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Queen's Park, north west London, in the borough of Brent, England. Admissions There are, as of December 2020, 1286 pupils aged between 11 and 19 on roll who come from a range of backgrounds. QPCS is situated south of the A4003, in Brondesbury Park, about a mile west of Kilburn. The closest bus stations are Okehampton Road and Hanover Road, whilst the closest train station is Kensal Rise (which serves for the Overground). History Merger Opened in 1989, Queens Park Community School is the result of an amalgamation of three schools during the 1980s. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Tafari Lalibela Moore (born 5 July 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for St Albans City. He came through the youth system at Arsenal, and has been involved with the England national under-20 football team. Club career Arsenal Moore was born in the London Borough of Brent. Margery Hurst (née Berney; 23 May 1913 – 11 February 1989), was a British businesswoman, and the founder of the recruitment agency Brook Street Bureau, which when it went public in 1965, was the world's largest office employment agency. Early life She was born Margery Berney on 23 May 1913, probably in Portsmouth, the second of four daughters of Samuel Berney, a cinema owner and builder, of Portsmouth, and his wife Deborah Berney, née Rose. Don't Cry For Me Argentina
"Don't Cry for Me Argentina" is a song recorded by Julie Covington for the 1976 concept album ''Evita'', later included in the 1978 musical of the same name. The song was written and composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice while they were researching the life of Argentine leader Eva Perón. It appears at the opening of the first and second acts, as well as near the end of the show, initially as the spirit of the dead Eva exhorting the people of Argentina not to mourn her, during Eva's speech from the balcony of the Casa Rosada, and during her final broadcast. The ''Evita'' album had taken 3–4 months to record, since Rice was not satisfied with the intensity of the initial recordings. The song had a number of different titles before "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" was chosen as the final one. Julie Covington (born 11 September 1946) is an English singer and actress, best known for recording the original version of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina", which she sang on the 1976 concept album Evita. Early life Julie Covington was born in London. Her parents were Ernest Gladden and Elsie Gladden (née Moody). Her parents divorced and her mother married Leslie Covington in 1957.
