Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhupura ( ur, ) is an industrial area being developed by the Punjab government. Previously it was named Quaid-e-azam Apparel Park; the name was changed in November 2019. The Chief Minister of the Punjab, Sardar Usman Ahmad Khan Buzdar said that the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park in Sheikhupura will go a long way in boosting industrialization in Pakistan and it would create approximately half million jobs while a labour colony will also be built in the Quaid-e-Azam business park at the land of 200 acres __FORCETOC__ Location This business park is spread over 1536 acres of land located on the M2 Lahore-Islamabad Motorway near Sheikhupura. M2 Motorway (Pakistan)
The M-2 Motorway or the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway ( ur, ) is a north–south motorway in Pakistan, connecting Rawalpindi/Islamabad to Lahore, and is the first motorway to have been built in South Asia. The M-2 is 375 km long and located entirely in Punjab. It continues on to eventually become the M-1 Motorway, which terminates in Peshawar. The M-2 crosses the junction of M-4 (to Faisalabad) at Pindi Bhattian and M-3 (to Multan) at Dera Saithan Wala. The motorway is also a part of the Asian Highway AH1. The motorway was constructed during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's rule and cost over Rs. 60 billion and was opened in November 1997. One of the most expensive motorways in Asia, it also has one of the highest pillared-bridges in Asia at the Khewra Salt Range section. Sheikhupura ( pa, ; ur, ) also known as Qila Sheikhupura, is a city in the Pakistani province of Punjab, Pakistan, Punjab. Founded by the Mughal Empire, Mughal Emperor Jahangir, Jehangir in 1607, Sheikhupura is the List of most populous cities in Pakistan, 16th largest city of Pakistan by population and is the headquarters of Sheikhupura District. The city is an industrial center, and satellite town, located about 38 km northwest of Lahore. It is also connected to District Kasur. The old name of Sheikhupura was “Virkgarh” due to large number of Virk jatts, Jats settled in the area. The Virks are still strong in this area both politically and economically. There are around 132 villages in this area which belong to the Virks.
