Pärnu Jalgpalliklubi (), commonly known as PJK, or simply as Pärnu, is a Football team, football club, based in Pärnu, Estonia. Founded in 1989, Pärnu JK is mostly known for its women's team (Pärnu JK, Pärnu JK women), who until 2019 competed in the Estonian top division Naiste Meistriliiga. Domestically, Pärnu won a record 13 Naiste Meistriliiga, 6 Estonian Women's Cup and 7 Estonian Women's Supercup trophies. The club's men's team last played in the second division Esiliiga. Pärnu Rannastaadion
Pärnu Rannastaadion ( en, Pärnu Beach Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Pärnu, Estonia. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home ground of Pärnu JK Vaprus and Pärnu Jalgpalliklubi, PJK. The stadium was opened after reconstruction in 2016 and seats 1,501. The address of the stadium is Ranna pst. 2, 80012 Pärnu. History Although sporting activities on the field, where today lies Pärnu Rannastaadion, date back to 1896, when a velodrome was opened by the association of German cyclists, the stadium was officially opened on 14 July 1929. The grandstand, which was also built to host singing festivals, was able to seat around 700 people and was labelled as 'the finest of the Baltic states'. However, on 9 February 1933 the grandstand was set on fire and the perpetrators were never caught. 6 months later, a new and larger grandstand was opened. Meistriliiga
Meistriliiga (, known as the A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) is the highest division of the Estonian Football Association annual football (soccer), football championship. The league was founded in 1992, and was initially semi-professional with amateur clubs allowed to compete. With the help of solidarity mechanisms, the league is fully professional since the 2020 Meistriliiga, 2020 season. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. Meistriliiga consists of ten clubs, all teams play each other four times. After each season the bottom team is relegated and the second last team plays a two-legged play-off for a place in the Meistriliiga. In February 2013, A. Le Coq, an Estonian brewery company, signed a five-year cooperation agreement with the Estonian Football Association, which included Meistriliiga naming rights.
