Pärnu JK Vaprus is a Association football, football club based in Pärnu, Estonia, that competes in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football league system, Estonian football. The club's home ground is Pärnu Rannastaadion. History Vaprus was formed in May 1922, as Sporting Society Vaprus. Among other sports Vaprus competed in the local Pärnu football championships, winning in 1927 and 1934. In 1937, Vaprus merged with several other local sporting clubs to form Pärnu Kalev. The club was re-established in 1999 as an amateur team playing in the lower leagues. In 2003, several local clubs merged with Vaprus, including former top league club Pärnu Levadia, forming a working football club. Vaprus won the 2005 Esiliiga season and was, for the first time in the club's history, promoted to Estonia's top-flight football league Meistriliiga. Pärnu Rannastaadion
Pärnu Rannastaadion ( en, Pärnu Beach Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Pärnu, Estonia. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home ground of Pärnu JK Vaprus and Pärnu Jalgpalliklubi, PJK. The stadium was opened after reconstruction in 2016 and seats 1,501. The address of the stadium is Ranna pst. 2, 80012 Pärnu. History Although sporting activities on the field, where today lies Pärnu Rannastaadion, date back to 1896, when a velodrome was opened by the association of German cyclists, the stadium was officially opened on 14 July 1929. The grandstand, which was also built to host singing festivals, was able to seat around 700 people and was labelled as 'the finest of the Baltic states'. JK Sillamäe Kalev, commonly known as Sillamäe Kalev, or simply as Sillamäe, is a football club, based in Sillamäe, Estonia. Founded in 1957, Sillamäe Kalev was one of the founding members of the Meistriliiga. The club competed in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football in 2017, but was declared bankrupt in March 2018. Its football academy continued and took over the name, continuing in the II liiga, 4th level in the Estonian football league system. II Liiga
II liiga is the fourth level of football league competition in Estonia arranged by the Estonian Football Association. It consists of 28 teams, divided geographically into two divisions with 14 teams respectively in group North/East and South/West. Until 2013, it was the third level league. Competition During the season, teams play each opponent twice, once at home and once away, for 26 matches. At the end of the season, the winners of both divisions face each other in one final match to determine the champion of II liiga. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts around April and lasts until around the start of November. Esiliiga
The Esiliiga is the second division in the Estonian football league system. The Esiliiga is ranked below the Meistriliiga and above the Esiliiga B. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. The league features several reserve teams of Meistriliiga clubs. According to the rules set by the Estonian Football Association, reserve teams are ineligible for promotion to the Meistriliiga, but can play in the Estonian Cup. Competition format During the season, the teams play each of the other four times, twice at home and twice away. This makes for a total of 36 games played each season. The teams gain three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a defeat. Promotion and relegation between divisions is a central feature of the league. Tallinna Jalgpalli Klubi Legion or simply TJK Legion is an Estonian football club, based in Tallinn. On 4 January 2007, Tallinna Jalgpalli Klubi and Tallinna SK Legion merged into this club. Legion also has a reserve team. Its name is Tallinna JK Legion II.
