Pär Lindgren
Pär Lindgren (born 16 January 1952 in Gothenburg) is a Swedish composer and composition teacher, cited as one of Sweden's leading composers of electroacoustic music, and one of the most important Swedish composers of orchestral music of his generation along with Jan Sandstrom, Anders Hillborg, and Anders Nilsson. Lindgren studied composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH) in the 1970s. Since 1980, he has taught at KMH and was professor of composition there from 1998 until 2008. Since then, he has returned to being a lecturer. Jan Sandström (composer)
Jan Sandström (born 25 January 1954) is a Swedish classical music composer. His compositions include the so-called '' Motorbike Concerto'' for trombone and orchestra and his choral setting of ''Es ist ein Ros entsprungen''. Career Born in Vilhelmina, Västerbotten County, Sandström grew up in Stockholm. He studied at the Luleå University of Technology's Piteå School of Music (1974–1976) and completed his music training at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm, studying music theory (1978–1982) and composition with Gunnar Bucht, Brian Ferneyhough and Pär Lindgren (1980–1984). He joined the faculty of the Piteå School of Music in the 1980s and was appointed professor of composition in 1989. Anders Hillborg
Per Anders Hillborg (born 31 May 1954) is one of Sweden’s leading composers. Education Anders Hillborg was born in Sollentuna, and studied composition, counterpoint and electronic music at the Kungliga Musikhögskolan in Stockholm from 1976 to 1982. His teachers were Gunnar Bucht, Lars-Erik Rosell, Arne Mellnäs and Pär Lindgren. An important source of inspiration was Brian Ferneyhough who was a visiting professor at the time. Career Apart from some minor teaching positions, professor in composition at Musikhögskolan i Malmö 1990 and masterclasses, Hillborg has been a freelance composer since 1982. His output is vast and covers genres as orchestral, choir, chamber works as well as film and popular music. Anders Nilsson (born July 6, 1954 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Sweden, Swedish composer. He made his début as composer with the first part of the trilogy ''Trois Pièces pour grand orchestre'' in Copenhagen (1981). He has composed orchestral music, including three symphonies, several concertos, and chamber music as well as three operas: the first opera ''Klassresan'' to his own libretto received its première in 2003 and the second, ''Zarah'' (about Zarah Leander's time in Nazi Germany, with a libretto by Claes Fellbom), was premièred in 2007 at the Folkoperan in Stockholm. Adrian Knight (born 3 January 1987 in Uppsala, Sweden) is a Swedish composer, songwriter and musician living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Between 2006 and 2009 he studied with Pär Lindgren and Jesper Nordin at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and between 2009 and 2011 with David Lang, Christopher Theofanidis, Martin Bresnick, Ezra Laderman, and Ingram Marshall at the Yale School of Music in New Haven. He is a member of a pop group, Blue Jazz TV, as well as ambient duo Private Elevators and the experimental jazz collective Synthetic Love Dream Ensemble.
