Pyongyang International House Of Culture
Pyongyang International House of Culture, also known as the Pyongyang International Cultural Center, is a cultural venue in the Central District of Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea. It was opened on 2 April 1988. It serves as venue for cultural exchange with foreigners. Venue Architecturally it combines Korean elements with Soviet architecture. It has a glass facade. The venue has ten floors and the floor space spans . Rooms dedicated to different cultural activities include art exhibitions, music practice and dance rooms, including a musical instrument room with 160 national instruments from all over the world. The building houses a cinema with the capacity of 120 seats and simultaneous interpreting capabilities. There is also a banquet hall, lounge, tea shop, and offices. Central District, Pyongyang
Chung-guyŏk (Central Ward) is one of the 18 '' guyok'' which constitute the city of Pyongyang, North Korea. The district is located in the center of the city, between the Pothonggang Canal and Taedong River, and is bordered to the north by Moranbong-guyok, to the northwest by Potonggang-guyok, and to the south by Pyongchon-guyok. The famous Kim Il-sung Square is located along the banks of the Taedong river, together with the Grand People's Study House, which is the national library of North Korea. Isang Yun Orchestra
The Isang Yun Orchestra () is a Western-style chamber orchestra in North Korea. Named after the composer Isang Yun, the orchestra is attached to the Isang Yun Music Institute in Pyongyang. History The IYO was established in December 1990 by the conductor Kim Il-Jin, who gathered 42 young performers from across the country. In December 1992, the Isang Yun Music Hall(윤이상음악당), a chamber music hall, opened at the Isang Yun Isang Music Institute in the Pyongyang International House of Culture and the IYO became the orchestra-in-residence of this hall.
