The Joseph Cooper House is an old manor on Pyne Point built in 1695 by Joseph Cooper son of William Cooper. Cooper Point (also known as Cooper Poynt) is a neighborhood in the northwestern part of Camden, New Jersey, Camden, New Jersey, United States. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, the neighborhood has a population of 2,880. It is north of Cooper Grant, Camden, Cooper Grant and the Camden Waterfront, Central Waterfront the other neighborhoods located near the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. The yards of Weeks Marine and the site of the former Riverfront State Prison are located along the Delaware River. In May 2013, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority announced that it would seek developers for the site. In September 2013, Waterfront Renaissance Associates announced that it proposed to build the Riverfront World Trade Center, a development of 2.3-million-square-foot campus on 16 acres on the site. Joseph Cooper House
Joseph Cooper House is located in Camden, Camden County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1695 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 14, 1973, for its significance in architecture. With A fire, about 2005, destroyed the roof. Benjamin Cooper House
The Benjamin Cooper House is an 18th-century farmhouse and ferry house in Camden, New Jersey, in the United States. It is located at Erie Street in the Pyne Point neighborhood in North Camden. It was originally built in 1734 and served as ferry stop as well as residence. It later was a hotel and entertainment venue. The building suffered extensive damage in a fire on Thanksgiving Day 2012. The Benjamin Cooper House was built as a two-story Dutch colonial home with an addition made later in the late 18th century. The main part of the house is built from stone and the subsequent addition of brick. During the occupation of Philadelphia by the British and Hessian forces in the American Revolutionary War it served as a headquarters for British Lt. Colonel Abercromby. In the early 19th century it served as a pleasure garden and was open in the springs and summers to the public. Rafael Cordero y Molina (October 24, 1790 – July 5, 1868), known as Maestro Cordero, was a self-educated Afro–Puerto Rican who provided free schooling to the children of his city regardless of race or social standing. He is also known as the "Father of Public Education in Puerto Rico". In 2004, the Catholic Church began the process of Cordero's beatification. In 2013, Pope Francis recognized him as Venerable.
