Puthiya Thiruppangal
Sharada Ramanathan is an Indian film director, cultural thinker and writer. She made her directional debut in the 2007 Tamil film ''Sringaram'' which won three National Film Awards. Her second film '' Puthiya Thiruppangal'' is awaiting release. In 2014, she directed ''Natyanubhava'', a documentary film about Indian classical dance, featuring the top dancers and film technicians in India. Career Prior to entering films, Sharada Ramanathan was engaged in the fields of media and culture. She was involved with social and cultural movements such as SPIC MACAY and CRY. She was highly instrumental in setting up India Foundation for the Arts, a philanthropic organization to encourage fine arts in India. She was also associated with Ford Foundation as its "Program Officer". Her first feature film, ''Sringaram'' (2007), is set in the early 19th century and depicts the life of a Devadasi. International Film Festival Of India
The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), founded in 1952, is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. Child Trafficking In India
India has a very high volume of child trafficking. As many as one child disappears every eight minutes, according to the National Crime Records Bureau. In some cases, children are taken from their homes to be bought and sold in the market. In other cases, children are tricked into the hands of traffickers by being presented an opportunity for a job, when in reality, upon arrival they become enslaved. In India, there are many children trafficked for various reasons such as labor, begging, and sexual exploitation. Because of the nature of this crime; it is hard to track; and due to the poor enforcement of laws, it is difficult to prevent.
