Purvi or Poorvi () is a raga in Hindustani classical music that exemplifies its own thaat, the Poorvi thaat. Purvi has a deeply serious, quiet and somewhat mystical character. It is uncommon in performances nowadays. Poorvi (thaat)
Pooja or pooja () is Pū of the eleven basic thaats of Hindustani music from the Indian subcontinent. It is also the name of a raga within this thaat. Description Poorvi thaat adds a Komal Dhaivat to Marva (thaat), Marva thaat. These thaat ragas usually feature komal Rishabh, shuddha Gandhar and Shuddha Nishad along with teevra Madhyam, the note which distinguishes evening from the morning ragas (dawn and sunset). Devanesan Chokkalingam, also known as Deva, is a south Indian film composer and singer who predominantly works in Tamil Cinema. He has composed songs and provided background music for Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam films in a career spanning about 36 years. He has composed music for more than 400 films. Personal life Deva was born to M. C. Chokkalingam and M. C. Krishnaveni. Even in his childhood, Deva was attracted to the world of music. Vijay Prakash (born 21 February 1976) is an Indian Playback singer and also a Music Composer from Karnataka. He has given his voice for predominantly Kannada and Telugu language films. In addition, he has also sung in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Marathi. He is one of the judges for the Kannada reality show ''Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'' on Zee Kannada. He has also performed shows with Zakir Hussain. ''Naan Kadavul'' () is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language action drama film co-written and directed by Bala. The film is based on the Tamil novel ''Yezhaam Ulagam'' by Jeyamohan, who also penned the dialogues for the film. The film stars Arya and Pooja. The film produced by K. S. ''Pithamagan'' () is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language crime drama film written and directed by Bala. The film stars Vikram, Suriya, Laila and Sangeetha. Pillavalu Gajapathy Krishnaveni (3 November 1935 – 16 August 2004), more famously known as Jikki, was an Indian playback singer from Andhra Pradesh. She sang around 10,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Sinhalese languages. Early life Jikki was born in Chennai on 3 November 1935.
