Puppydog Tales
Rosie & Ruff in ''Puppydog Tales'' is a British children's television cartoon created by Hilary Hayton, creator of ''Crystal Tipps and Alistair''. The show was narrated and scripted by Victoria Wood. The series was screened in Canada on the Knowledge Network and aired in 1989 before finally airing in its country of origin on 17 September 1992. The series was broadcast on the BBC only running for 13 episodes but was repeated through till 1996. In the mid and late 1990s, the series was later broadcast on the defunct children's cable and satellite television channel The Children's Channel and the former digital television network for children called Carlton Kids Carlton Kids was a British digital terrestrial pay television kids channel, provided by Carlton Television, which started broadcasting in November 1998 and closed in February 2000. Knowledge Network, also branded as British Columbia's Knowledge Network, is a Canadian publicly funded educational cable television network serving the province of British Columbia. It is owned by the Knowledge Network Corporation, a Crown corporation of the Government of British Columbia, and began broadcasting on January 12, 1981. Sarah MacDonald and Jeffrey Lee are the current Interim President & CEO respectively. A national search is currently underway for new leadership. Knowledge Network's broadcast licence is for satellite-to-cable programming. Carlton Kids
Carlton Kids was a British digital terrestrial pay television kids channel, provided by Carlton Television, which started broadcasting in November 1998 and closed in February 2000. Its sister channels were Carlton Food Network, Carlton World, Carlton Cinema and Carlton Select. It broadcast exclusively on ONdigital, the digital terrestrial pay-TV platform backed by Carlton and Granada, where it timeshared on channel 34 with Carlton World. The channel had limited coverage, reaching only 69% of the population via the lowest-powered terrestrial multiplex D, and newspapers and listings magazines were slow to feature the channel's programming. In the face of competition from several other dedicated children's channels in the UK market the channel ceased broadcasting at the end of January 2000 after 2 years, partly due to the limited uptake of the ONdigital platform where it was exclusively available, where the channel was replaced with Discovery Kids and Discovery Wings.
