Punyavathi
''Punyavathi'' is a 1967 Telugu-language drama film, produced by Vasu Menon under the Vasu Studios banner and directed by V. Dadamirasi. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Krishna Kumari, Shobhan Babu and the music is composed by Ghantasala. The film was a remake of the Hindi film '' Nai Roshni'' (1967). Plot Professor Krishna Rao is a great educationist. During his youth, he has knitted to a wise woman Parvati and they has a son Prakash. Later, lack of ill-health Parvati losses her sight and Krishna Rao expels her with Prakash. Nihar Ranjan Gupta ( bn, নীহাররঞ্জন গুপ্ত, pen name: ''Banbhatta'' (বানভট্ট); 6 June 1911 – 20 February 1986) was an Indian dermatologist and a popular Bengali novelist. He is the creator of the fictional detective character Kiriti Roy. Some of his writings were made into films of Bengal and Bollywood. Ghantasala Venkateswararao (4 December 1922 – 11 February 1974), known mononymously by his surname as Ghantasala, was an Indian playback singer and film composer known for his works predominantly in Telugu and Kannada cinema and also in Tamil, Malayalam, Tulu and Hindi language films. He is considered as one of the greatest singers of Telugu cinema. In 1970, he received the Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian award for his contribution to Indian cinema. Jyothi Lakshmi (2 November 1948 – 9 August 2016) was an Indian actress who appeared in more than 130 movies. In the early 1970s, she was well noted for her leading roles and songs in movies.
