Punk Rock Confidential (album)
''Punk Rock Confidential'' is the sixth full-length album by pop punk band The Queers and their first album released on Hopeless Records. Background and recording After the 1996 album '' Don't Back Down'', The Queers went through changes, including founding member Joe King getting clean from drugs and alcohol, drummer Hugh O'Neill leaving due to health issues and bassist B-Face moving over to the Groovie Ghoulies. The lineup change also caused their longtime label Lookout! Records to drop them. With new members Geoff Useless and Rick Respectable, the band released ''Everything's O.K. EP'' which became their first release on Hopeless Records. The band followed that up by recording ''Punk Rock Confidential'' in Big Sound Studios, in Westbrook, ME and Sonic Iguana in Lafayette, IN. Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta (23 September 1917 – 5 February 1984), known professionally as El Santo or in English The Saint, was a Mexican luchador enmascarado (Spanish for "masked professional wrestler"), actor and folk hero. He is one of the most famous and iconic Mexican luchadores, and has been referred to as one of "the greatest legends in Mexican sports". Jon Cougar Concentration Camp is an American punk rock band from San Diego, California, United States. History Jon Cougar Concentration Camp was formed in January 1994 in San Diego by Chris Fields, Clint Graham, Travis Spatter, and Travis Milligan. The band named themselves after a pun on musician John Cougar Mellencamp. They played their first show at The Casbah on January 31, 1994, and less than two months later self-released their first 7” EP. This would be the only recording with Clint and Travis, who both left the band. Bass guitarist Dave Swain was eventually added and the band continued as a trio. Geoff Palmer (Geoffrey Palmer born January 17, 1980, in Wakefield, Massachusetts, United States), also known by the stage name Geoff Useless, is an American musician from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, now living in Madison, Wisconsin. He played bass and provided backing vocals for The Queers straight out of high school, and played guitar and did lead vocals for The Guts and The Nobodys. In early 2011, he did a folk punk solo project with other musicians around Portsmouth called The Geoff Useless (Band). Currently, he co-writes songs for, and plays lead guitar in, a traditional rock and roll /powerpop band called The Connection. Lookout Records (stylized as Lookout! Records) was an independent record label, initially based in Laytonville, California and later in Berkeley, focusing on punk rock. Established in 1987, the label is best known for having released Operation Ivy’s only album, ''Energy'', and Green Day's first two albums, ''39/Smooth'' and ''Kerplunk''. Following the departure of co-founder Larry Livermore in 1997, the label departed from its "East Bay sound" and proved unable to match early success.
