Pulgaon Assembly constituency was one of the seats in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in India. It was made defunct after constituency map of India was redrawn in 2008. Pulgaon
Pulgaon () is a municipal council in Wardha district in the India state of Maharashtra. The nearest city is Wardha, away via the Mumbai–Nagpur Expressway. Located near Pulgaon is the Central Ammunition Depot, a military area and the second-largest ammunition depot in Asia. History Pulgaon was created as a municipality in 1901The Census Handbook of the Wardha district instead gives the year as 1902. and has an area of under its jurisdiction. The old town lies south of the railway station and is relatively new; it grew from a collection of hutments of workers employed for the nearby railway bridge over the Wardha river. It is therefore unofficially called "Bridgetown" (from mar, पुल, pul, bridge and mar, गाव, gaon, village/town). The town's rapid rise in importance was partially due to its favorable position in the center of a cotton-growing area. Maharashtra Legislative Assembly
The Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha or the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the legislature of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated in the Nariman Point area of South Mumbai in the capital Mumbai. Presently, 288 members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected from the single-seat constituencies. The members of the upper house, the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad (the legislative council) are indirectly elected through an electoral college. Sessions The budget session and the monsoon session are convened in Mumbai whereas the winter session is convened in the auxiliary capital Nagpur. Prabha Rau
Prabha Rau (4 March 1935 – 26 April 2010) was an Indian politician and the Governor of Rajasthan state of India when she died. She was appointed Governor of Rajasthan after she was transferred from Governor of Himachal Pradesh after Urmila Singh took charge on 25 Jan 2010 at Shimla. Initially following the death of previous governor of Rajasthan S.K. Singh, she got additional charge as Governor of Rajasthan along with charge of Governor of Himachal Pradesh. She was the governor of Himachal Pradesh since 19 July 2008. She was the former president of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. She hailed from Wardha. She has a brother named Arun Wasu. She was Member of Parliament in 13th Lok Sabha and was elected from Wardha (Lok Sabha constituency) in Maharashtra. Wardha District
Wardha district (Marathi pronunciation: əɾd̪ʰaː is in the state of Maharashtra in western India. This district is a part of Nagpur Division. The city of Wardha is the administrative headquarters of the district. Hinganghat, Pulgaon, Arvi and Wardha are the major cities in the district.
