Pukahirka
Pucajirca or Pucahirca (possibly from Quechua ''puka'' red, Ancash Quechua ''hirka'' mountain, "red mountain") is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 6,046 m (19,836 ft) high. It is located in the Ancash Region, Pomabamba Province, Pomabamba District (Pucajirca Norte) as well as in the Huaylas Province, Yuracmarca District (Pucajirca Central) north of Rinrijirca. Its slopes are within Huascarán National Park. The mountain has three separate and independent summits: Pucajirca Norte (6,046 m), Central (6,014 m) and Oeste (6,039 m). The current DEM data has no enough evidence to confirm its official altitude. First Ascent The summit of Pucajirca Norte was first achieved on July 14, 1955, by Nick Clinch and Andrew Kauffman II (USA), also two days later by Harvey McMannis and David Sowles (USA). Yuracmarca District
Yuracmarca or Yuraq Marka (Quechua ''yuraq'' white, ''marka'' village, "white village") is one of 10 districts of the Huaylas Province in the Ancash Region of Peru. The capital of the district is the village of Yuracmarca. Geography The district is located in the eastern part of the province at an elevation of 1,518m, 122 km from the regions capital Huaraz and 55 km from the province's capital Caraz. The Cordillera Blanca traverses the province. Pomabamba Province
The Pomabamba Province (Quechua Puma Pampa) is one of twenty provinces of the Ancash Region in Peru. It was formerly called ''Pumapampa'' (Quechua for "cougar plain") and today it is also known as "The City of Cedars". It is located at the left bank of the Pomabamba river, at above sea level. It was created by law on February 21, 1861. In this vast region some archaeological sites like Ichik Yaynu, Willka Marka, Runa Marka and the gigantic stone constructions of Yaynu were found with features of the Recuay Culture. For these ancient copper-colored and fecund places, one of the biggest pre-inca confederations was created, the powerful confederation of conchucos. It was an iron agglomeration of people that presented a hard and brave resistance to the Inca and Spanish armies. Huascarán National Park
Huascarán National Park ( es, Parque Nacional Huascarán) is a Peruvian national park that comprises most of the mountain range known as Cordillera Blanca (the world's highest tropical mountain range) which is part of the central Andes, in the region of Ancash.
