	Cristi Puiu Cristi Puiu (; born 3 April 1967) is a Romanian film director and screenwriter. With Anca Puiu and Alex Munteanu, in 2004 he founded a cinema production company, naming it Mandragora. Early life, education and career Cristian Emilian Puiu was born to Iuliana and Emilian Puiu in Bucharest, Romania. Puiu's first interest in art was painting. In 1992, he was admitted as a student to the Painting Department of ''École Supérieure d'Arts Visuels'' in Geneva. After the first year he switched to film studies at the same school, where he graduated in 1996. He started working in film after his return to Romania. He is married to Anca Puiu. He and Anca have three children: Smaranda, Ileana and Zoe. Career Director Cristi Puiu's debut as a director was in 2001 with the low-budget road movie ''Stuff and Dough'' (''Marfa și banii''), starring Alexandru Papadopol and Dragoș Bucur. picture info	Visarion Puiu Visarion Puiu (; sometimes Bessarion in French; born Victor Puiu on 27 February 1879 in Pașcani, Romania – 10 August 1964 in Paris or Viels-Maisons, France) was a metropolitan bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Church. During World War II, at a time when Romania was an ally of Nazi Germany, he served as the leading Eastern Orthodox clergyman in occupied Transnistria, a territory where several hundred thousand Jews were murdered. In August 1944, when Romania switched sides, he took refuge in Nazi Germany. After the war, he lived in Italy and Switzerland before finally settling in France. In 1946, he was sentenced to death ''in absentia'' by the Bucharest People's Tribunal. 	Puiu Dumitrescu Constantin “Puiu” Dumitrescu was the secretary to King Carol II of Romania. In the 1920s, while in exile in Paris, Prince Carol hired Dumitrescu as his private secretary. The latter was a law student at the University of Paris; his father, general Constantin Dumitrescu, was in charge of military recruitment at Constanța. Wily and well informed, Puiu quickly earned the prince's confidence. He was convinced that the royal was being persecuted by the old political guard for his modernizing ideas. He sought to rally a large number of politicians and businessmen around his boss, promising rewarding positions at the heights of state and economy. He is a vice-president of the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the leader of the party's group in the Senate. In April 2013, Hașotti incited controversy by declaring that he considers gay people to be "sick people". He also said that, "Homosexuality is not a normal state, it is not a natural relationship".
