Puisseguin
Puisseguin (; oc, Puègseguin) is a commune in the Gironde department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. It is around 15 km east of Libourne. In October 2015, 43 people died in a crash between a bus and a lorry. Geography Located in the Pays du Libournais. Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion AOC
Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion is an ''Appellation d'origine contrôlée'' (AOC) for wine in the Bordeaux wine region of France, where it is situated in the Libourne subregion on the right bank of the Dordogne. It was granted AOC status on 14 November 1936, and the AOC designation granted to the wines which have been harvested on the land of the Puisseguin commune. of vine planted areas have belonged to the appellation in 2005, with a production of 34,648 hl. Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion only produces red wine, and nearly all of the grape varieties from Bordeaux can be and are used, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Côt, etc., although it is Merlot that is used most often. Like the vineyards of Montagne, the vineyards of Puisseguin are located in the area northeast of Saint-Émilion on the right bank of the Barbanne. Puisseguin Road Crash
The 2015 Puisseguin road crash occurred on 23 October 2015, at 07:30 local time (05:30 UTC). 43 people, including a three-year-old boy, died when a bus and a lorry collided in Puisseguin, a commune in south-western France. Crash The crash happened at around 07:30 on the morning of Friday, 23 October 2015 at a bend on Departmental Road 17 not far south of Puisseguin. Authorities said they believed the lorry, carrying logs, lost control on a bend and jackknifed into the coach's path before both vehicles burst into flames. The cause of the fire and consequent loss of life was that the truck had a large aluminum gasoline tank carrying fuel for chainsaws and other logging equipment, which ruptured in the crash. Afterwards, gasoline streamed down the hill under the bus, where sparks ignited it, and the fire traveled back to the truck. The bus was equipped with emergency escape hammers with which to break windows, but passengers were not aware of them or not instructed in their use, ...
