Puerto Salgar
Puerto Salgar () is a municipality and town of Colombia in the northwestern part of the Departments of Colombia, department of Cundinamarca Department, Cundinamarca. It came to international attention when the US ambassador in Colombia announced the Captain Germán Olano Moreno Air Base, Palanquero Air Base had entered a recertification process, possibly in order to host US military personnel as a replacement to the Manta Air Base. As of July 2009, negotiations were ongoing. On 29 December 2015, Puerto Salgar recorded a temperature of , which is the highest temperature to have ever been recorded in Colombia. References

The Municipalities of Colombia are decentralized subdivisions of the Republic of Colombia. Municipalities make up most of the departments of Colombia with 1,122 municipalities (''municipios''). Each one of them is led by a mayor (''alcalde'') elected by popular vote and represents the maximum executive government official at a municipality level under the mandate of the governor of their department which is a representative of all municipalities in the department; municipalities are grouped to form departments. Captain Germán Olano Moreno Air Base ( es, Base Aérea Capitán Germán Olano Moreno) is a Colombian military base assigned to the Colombian Air Force (''Fuerza Aérea Colombiana'' or FAC) Combat Air Command No. 1 (''Comando Aéreo de Combate No. 1'' or CACOM 1).
