Pudsey Lowtown Railway Station
Pudsey Lowtown railway station is a closed railway station in Pudsey, in the former West Riding of Yorkshire, located about west of Leeds station. It served the eastern parts of the town of Pudsey. It was opened to passengers on 1 April 1878 as an intermediate station on the single-track branch line from Bramley to Pudsey Greenside, built by the Great Northern Railway. Freight traffic on this line had already started in 1877. In 1893 the line was double-tracked and extended beyond Pudsey Greenside through Greenside Tunnel towards Laisterdyke and Dudley Hill, forming the Pudsey Loop. Upon the reorganisation of the railways in 1923, the line passed to the London and North Eastern Railway, and in 1948 to the Eastern Region of British Railways. New Pudsey railway station is in Farsley, West Yorkshire, England, on the Calder Valley line from Leeds to Bradford Interchange, Halifax, Huddersfield, Manchester Victoria, and Blackpool North. Pudsey Loop Line Railway
The Pudsey loop was a railway line in the former West Riding of Yorkshire, England, which served the town of Pudsey and later offered a second connection between Bramley in the east and Laisterdyke and Dudley Hill in the west, in addition to the existing line between Leeds and Bradford Exchange station. It was opened by the Great Northern Railway as a dead-end branch from Stanningley to Pudsey in 1877. However there was demand for a better connection with the main line network, and the line was extended to make a through route. Considerable earthworks and a tunnel made this a difficult work to execute. The line opened in 1895 and became used as a through route, as an alternative to the earlier line. Dudley Hill is a village in the borough of City of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England and is in Tong ward. History There are a few mentions of the name Dudley Hill prior to the industrial revolution.
