Bill Puddy
Albert William Puddy (December 19, 1916 – June 23, 1999) was a competition swimmer who represented Canada in international swimming events during the 1930s. At the 1934 British Empire Games in London, he won a gold medal as a member of the first-place Canadian team in the 3x110-yard medley relay, and a bronze medal in the 200-yard breaststroke. He also swam in the 200-metre breaststroke at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany, but did not advance beyond the first round. Don Puddy
Donald Ray Puddy (May 31, 1937November 22, 2004) was a NASA engineer and manager. He joined NASA in 1964, eventually becoming the agency's tenth flight director. His Flight Team colors were Crimson. He served as a flight director during the Apollo 17, Skylab, and Apollo-Soyuz Test Project missions, Skylab, and the first Space Shuttle mission. He earned a number of awards for his service, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal. Early years He was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma. NASA career Puddy joined NASA in 1964. During the early years of the Apollo program he worked as a TELMU, a flight controller responsible for the electrical, life support and communications systems of the Lunar Module. He was on duty during the Apollo 11 lunar landing. Harold Marvin Puddy (August 18, 1925 – January 31, 1975) was an American football player who played at the tackle position on both offense and defense. He played college football for Oregon State and professional football for the San Francisco 49ers. Early years Puddy was born in 1925 in Hood River, Oregon. He attended Hood River High School. College football Puddy played college football for the Oregon State Beavers from 1945 to 1947. He also played as a center for the Oregon State basketball team. He also received the U.G. Dubach Award for Citizenship while at Oregon State. He received a degree in civil engineering from Oregon State. Professional football Puddy played professional football in the All-America Football Conference for the San Francisco 49ers during their 1948 season. Maude Mary Puddy
Maude Mary Puddy (27 March 1883 – 1 August 1974) was an Australian pianist and music educator. Early life and education Puddy was born in Brompton, South Australia on 27 March 1883. She was the third daughter of Cornish-born Jane (née Coombe) and Devon-born Albert Puddy. She was educated at the Currie Street Model School and then Advanced School for Girls in Grote Street, Adelaide. From the age of eight she was taught piano by her father. In 1893, competing against girls of 15, she won the annual Public School Exhibition for piano. She performed a public concert in August 1894 and was praised for both her technique and "''con amore'' style of playing". She won the Public School Exhibition for piano again in 1894. She began lessons with Gotthold Reimann at the Adelaide College of Music in 1895 and continued under his tuition when the college merged with the Elder Conservatorium of Music at the University of Adelaide. Puddy the Pup is a Terrytoons cartoon character who featured in a theatrical short film series from 1935 to 1942. He also appeared as Farmer Al Falfa's sidekick in other Terrytoon shorts, such as ''Tin Can Tourist'' and '' Farmer Al Falfa's Prize Package''. The character is a white dog with a black ear, a design similar to generic dogs in various Terrytoons. Filmography * A Puddy-esque dog appears in ''A Dog's Dream'' (1941), but without black spots. Terrytoons
Terrytoons was an American animation studio in New Rochelle, New York, that produced animated cartoons for theatrical release from 1929 to 1973 (and briefly returned between 1987 and 1996 for television in name only). Terrytoons was founded by Paul Terry, Frank Moser, and Joseph Coffman, and operated out of the "K" Building in downtown New Rochelle. The studio created many cartoon characters including Fanny Zilch, Mighty Mouse, Heckle and Jeckle, Gandy Goose, Sourpuss, Dinky Duck, Little Roquefort, the Terry Bears, Dimwit, and Luno; Terry's pre-existing character Farmer Al Falfa was also featured often in the series.
