Psych (season 1)
The first season of ''Psych'' originally aired in the United States on the USA Network television network between July 7, 2006 and March 2, 2007. Produced by Universal Cable Productions and Tagline Television, the series was created by Steve Franks, who served as executive producer with Kelly Kulchak and Chris Henze. The comedy-drama series focuses on Shawn Spencer (James Roday), a police consultant who pretends to be psychic, and his assistant Burton "Gus" Guster, a pharmaceuticals salesman. The season consisted of fifteen 43-minute episodes, which aired at 10:00 p.m. on Fridays. Franks conceived the idea for the show when producers at Columbia Pictures requested he pitch them ideas for a TV program while he was working on the film ''Big Daddy''. Pilot (Psych Episode)
"Pilot" is the first episode of the TV series, ''Psych''. It originally aired on USA Network on July 7, 2006. Plot Shawn Spencer (James Roday) has never kept a job for more than 6 months. He helps the Santa Barbara Police Department prove a man guilty, using his keen powers of observation and his near perfect photographic memory he obtained as a kid. Detectives Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) and Lucinda Barry (Anne Dudek) take Shawn into questioning, where Shawn claims to have obtained the information psychically. The police let him go with no proof to disprove the claim. On his way out, Shawn is asked for help by Chief Karen Vick on a high-profile kidnapping case. The investigation into the kidnapping of Camden McCallum, sole male heir to the McCallum fortune, is stalled. She believes Shawn's psychic powers can help solve the case. Michael Engler
Michael Engler is an American theater director, and a Directors Guild of America and Emmy nominated television director and producer. Theater His Broadway credits include ''Eastern Standard'', starring Dylan Baker, Patricia Clarkson, Kevin Conroy, and Anne Meara, as well as ''Mastergate'', written by Larry Gelbart, and ''I Hate Hamlet'', written by Paul Rudnick and starring Evan Handler and Alan Arkin. Karen C. Vick (née Dunlap) is a character on the American comedy detective drama ''Psych'' played by Kirsten Nelson. Fictional biography According to Head Detective Carlton Lassiter's weblog, Vick replaced Police Chief John Fenich upon his retirement about a month prior to Shawn's arrival at the SBPD in the pilot episode. However, in "Poker? I Barely Know Her", she references an event known as "The Secret Santa Debacle of 2005", suggesting that she has been involved in the Santa Barbara Police Department in some capacity at least since December of that year. Henry William Spencer, Jr. is a fictional character on the American television dramedy '' Psych''. He is played by American actor Corbin Bernsen.
