Psonic Psunspot
''Psonic Psunspot'' is the second album by English rock band the Dukes of Stratosphear, released in 1987. Also counted as XTC's tenth studio album, it is a follow-up to ''25 O'Clock'' (1985). In 2002, the website ''Pitchfork'' listed the album at 66 on their "Top 100 Albums of the 1980s", calling the songs "a surreal rock-opera of opaque, hallucinogenic wonder". Music Some of its tracks were rejected XTC songs ("Shiny Cage", "Little Lighthouse", and "You're My Drug"). Like the previous album ''25 O'Clock'', this album is inspired by 1960s psychedelia. Release The album was released in its original form on vinyl and cassette, accompanied with the "You're A Good Man Albert Brown" single and the promotional-only "Vanishing Girl" single. The Dukes Of Stratosphear
The Dukes of Stratosphear were an English rock music, rock band formed in 1984 by Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding, Dave Gregory (musician), Dave Gregory, and Ian Gregory. Modelled after psychedelic pop groups from the 1960s, the Dukes were initially publicised by Virgin Records as a mysterious new act, but were actually an XTC spin-off band. They recorded only two albums: ''25 O'Clock'' (1985) and ''Psonic Psunspot'' (1987). In the UK, the records outsold XTC's then-current albums ''The Big Express'' (1984) and ''Skylarking'' (1986). Partridge envisioned the Dukes as an amalgamation of "your favourite bands from 1967." He and Dave Gregory conceived the project in 1979, and in December 1984 the band found the opportunity to spend a few days recording what would become ''25 O'Clock''. Omnibus Press is a publisher of music-related books. It publishes around 30 new titles a year to add to a backlist of over 250 titles currently in print. History Omnibus Press was launched in 1972 as a general non-fiction publisher to complement the sheet music published and distributed by its parent company Music Sales Group. Music Sales had launched a separate company called Book Sales Ltd and the earliest Book Sales catalogue, issued in the early 70s, included compilations of underground comic strips, art and photography titles and one of the earliest books on the then newly discovered art of video. Dave Gregory (musician)
David Charles Gregory (born 21 September 1952) is an English guitarist from Swindon, best known for his work with the rock band XTC. He was a member of the group between the single " Life Begins at the Hop" (1979) and early sessions for the album '' Apple Venus Volume 1'' (1999), contributing guitar, keyboards, and occasional string arrangements. Career In '76/'77, before XTC Gregory was lead guitarist for Dave Heap's Forest of Dean based band, Gogmagog along with Jim Leach on keyboard. He joined XTC as guitarist immediately prior to the recording of the ''Drums and Wires'' LP in 1979, when he replaced Barry Andrews, eventually leaving the band in 1999. He also contributed keyboards and backing vocals to their work. QuickTime
QuickTime is an extensible multimedia framework developed by Apple Inc., capable of handling various formats of digital video, picture, sound, panoramic images, and interactivity. Created in 1991, the latest Mac version, QuickTime X, is available for Mac OS X Snow Leopard up to macOS Mojave. Apple ceased support for the Windows version of QuickTime in 2016, and ceased support for QuickTime 7 on macOS in 2018. As of Mac OS X Lion, the underlying media framework for QuickTime, QTKit, was deprecated in favor of a newer graphics framework, AVFoundation, and completely discontinued as of macOS Catalina. Brainiac is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino and first appeared in ''Action Comics'' #242 in July 1958.
