This route is the shortest road between the city of Buenos Aires and the coast cities of Pinamar and among other cities in the Atlantic coast. Because of that, the route has an intense traffic during the Summer time in Argentina. The road was paved in 1964. A paved section (54 km length) of PR 51 near

The General Roca Railway (FCGR) (native name: Ferrocarril General Roca) is a broad gauge railway in Argentina which runs from Constitución station in Buenos Aires to the south of the country through the provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Neuquén and Río Negro. A boom barrier, also known as a boom gate, is a bar, or pole pivoted to allow the boom to block vehicular or pedestrian access through a controlled point. Level Crossing Signals
Level crossing signals are the electronic warning devices for road vehicles at railroad level crossings. The basic signal consists of flashing red lights, a crossbuck and a bell (either a real bell or a speaker that mimics a bell sound), attached to a mast. At most crossings, the signals will activate about 30 seconds before the train arrives but there are sensors measuring speed so that the crossing knows when to activate; so, the slower the train is, the longer the delay and the faster the train is, the earlier the crossing activates. San Miguel, Buenos Aires
San Miguel is a city in the northwest region of Greater Buenos Aires, 30 km from the City of Buenos Aires. Mar De Ajó
Mar de Ajó is a coastal city in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, and is located in the southern end of the seaside La Costa Partido (the Coast District). The region is known as the Tuju Corner (Rincón del Tuyú). Etymology It owes its name to a word used by the Guarani aborigines who inhabited the area, whose meaning is ''Soft Mud''.
