Providence Hospital (Columbia, South Carolina)
Providence Hospitals was a two hospital health care system with 304 licensed beds. It is located in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, and was founded by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Augustine in 1938. The facility specialises in cardiac care, provided through the Providence Heart & Vascular Institute, which is recognized statewide as a referral center for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Providence Hospital Northeast was established in 1999 and offers a range of medical services in surgery, emergency care, women's and children's services and rehabilitation. The Providence Lying-In Hospital (later known as Women & Infants Hospital) is a historic hospital building in Providence, Rhode Island. The main building is a -story Gothic Revival structure which was designed in 1922 by Edward Stevens of Stevens and Lee and completed in 1926. It was the city's fourth hospital. To the west of this building is the Nurses' Home, designed by Wallis E. Howe and completed in 1933, following the general architectural style of the first building. Ascension Providence (formerly Providence Hospital) is a 349-bed high-rise hospital in the U.S. city of Mobile, Alabama. The hospital tower was completed in 1987.
