Proteus (Marvel Comics)
Kevin MacTaggert, best known as Proteus and also called Mutant X, is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character is commonly associated with the X-Men. Kevin was the mutant son of Scottish genetic researcher Moira MacTaggert and politician Joseph MacTaggert. Kevin had reality-warping and possession powers and lived most of his life in forced seclusion at his mother's Muir Island research facility. His attempt to break free and find his father made up a classic 1979–80 ''The Uncanny X-Men'' storyline that was adapted in the 1990s ''X-Men'' animated series. In 2009, Proteus was ranked as IGN's 77th-greatest villain of all time. Publication history Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist/co-writer John Byrne, Proteus first appeared in ''The Uncanny X-Men'' #125 (September 1979), though hints to his character appeared in earlier issues. Adi Granov
Adi Granov (;) is a Bosnian-American comic book artist and conceptual designer. He is best known for his painted work with Marvel Comics, for whom most of his comics work is produced, in particular his work on Iron Man. He is especially known for illustrating the miniseries '' Iron Man: Extremis'', and for doing concept and keyframe artwork for the 2008 film ''Iron Man'', a job for which director Jon Favreau personally selected him. Granov has also done concept work for the films '' The Avengers'' and ''The Amazing Spider-Man 2'', has designed packaging for the DVDs and toys based on those properties, and has also done design work for video games. Jean Grey
Jean Elaine Grey is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character has been known under the aliases Marvel Girl, Phoenix and Dark Phoenix. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in '' The X-Men'' #1 (Sept. 1963). Jean is a member of a subspecies of humans known as mutants, who are born with superhuman abilities. She was born with telepathic and telekinetic powers. Her powers first manifested when she saw her childhood friend being hit by a car. She is a caring, nurturing figure, but she also has to deal with being an Omega-level mutant and the physical manifestation of the cosmic Phoenix Force. Jean experienced a transformation into the Phoenix in the ''X-Men'' storyline "The Dark Phoenix Saga". She has faced death numerous times in the history of the series.
