Prostějov District ( cs, okres Prostějov) is a district (''okres'') within the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. Its capital is the city of Prostějov. Districts Of The Czech Republic
Districts of the Czech Republic are territorial units, formerly used as second-level administrative divisions of the Czech Republic. After their primary administrative function has been abolished in 2003, they still exist for the activities of specific authorities and as statistical units. Their administrative function was moved to selected municipalities. Establishment In 1960, Czechoslovakia was re-divided into districts ('' okres'', plural ''okresy'') often without regard to traditional division and local relationships. Čechy Pod Kosířem
Čechy pod Kosířem is a municipality and village in Prostějov District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,100 inhabitants. Geography Čechy pod Kosířem is located about northwest of Prostějov and west of Olomouc. It lies in the Zábřeh Highlands. The highest point is a contour line on the Velký Kosíř hill at ).
