Prosper Independent School District
Prosper Independent School District (PISD or Prosper ISD) is a public school district based in Prosper, Texas, United States. Located in Collin County, a portion of the district extends into Denton County. The district enrollment was 14,287 as of the 2018-2019 school year. The student body of Prosper High School (as of the 2019-2020 school year) consists of 1,229 freshmen, 1,078 sophomores, 983 juniors, and 804 seniors. The high school enrollment is approximately 4,094 as of the 2019-2020 school year. The town of Prosper continues to experience large population growth, and PISD expects to add new schools as the need arises. The land for Rock Hill High School (opened in 2020) is signed off of the west side of Coit Road in north Frisco, south of U.S. 380. Children's Health is a pediatric health care system in North Texas anchored by two hospitals, Children's Medical Center Dallas and Children's Medical Center Plano, as well as seven specialty centers and 19 pediatric clinics located throughout the region. Sam Johnson
Samuel Robert Johnson (October 11, 1930May 27, 2020) was an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for in Congress from 1991 to 2019. He was a member of the Republican Party. In October and November 2015, he was the acting Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means, where he also served as chairman of the Social Security Subcommittee. Johnson was also a United States Air Force colonel and was a decorated fighter pilot in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War where in the latter he was an American prisoner of war in North Vietnam for nearly seven years. Prosper, Texas
Prosper is a town in Collin and Denton counties in the U.S. state of Texas. Prosper is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, its population was 9,423; as of 2020, its population was 30,174. History The first settlers arrived in 1846 to farm cotton in the black fertile prairie soil. Between 1850 and 1902, two settlements existed - Rock Hill was two miles south of the present town and Richland was one mile north. The development of these small communities was expedited in 1876 when county courts ordered small tracts of land to be established for a quick sale. These tracts, each about 160 acres in size, were sold for $3.50 per acre. Dr. A. T. Bryant of McKinney purchased what later became the center of the present town. Rock Hill High School is a public high school in Frisco, Texas in the United States. Although the school is located in Frisco, it mostly serves students from Prosper and McKinney. Rock Hill is currently one of two high schools in Prosper ISD, the other being Prosper High School. A third high school in the district, Walnut Grove High School, is set to open in the 2023-2024 school year. Prosper High School is a class 6A public high school in Prosper, Texas, United States. It is part of Prosper Independent School District located in western Collin County, with a small portion of the district extending into Denton County. In addition to Prosper, the district serves a portion of McKinney and small parts of Frisco and Celina. History The 2009–2010 school year began in a brand new building. In 2015, the school was rated " Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.
