Prospect Road is a north–south road in the inner north suburbs of Adelaide, Australia. Route The road commences at the intersection with Waldaree Street in the industrial suburb of Gepps Cross and heads directly south, crossing Grand Junction Road, soon afterwards, and continuing south through Prospect, before crossing Fitzroy Terrace and ends soon after to meet the southern end of Main North Road and O'Connell Street, on the northern edges of North Adelaide. History In the 1840s Prospect Road was called Eliza Street and was not considered a main road, the two main roads heading north from North Adelaide being Main North Road and Lower Main North Road (now Churchill Road). Gepps Cross, South Australia
Gepps Cross (pronounced 'Jepps Cross') is a suburb and major road intersection in the north of Adelaide, South Australia. Gepps Cross is traditionally seen as the end of the inner suburbs and the start of the outer northern suburbs, as it was home to a major abattoir (now closed and demolished) with holding yards and other open space. It is the first significant open space encountered after the North Parklands. It retains the open nature, even with warehouses, a velodrome, hockey stadium, Adelaide Raiders – a Croatian soccer club, and karate training facilities.
