Propeller (Peter Stuart Album)
''Propeller'' is a 2002 studio album from the American singer-songwriter Peter Stuart. The album marked Stuart's solo debut. Stuart had previously formed the rock band Dog's Eye View in 1994. Before their hiatus, Stuart had been Dog's Eye View's lead vocalist and songwriter. The album's lead single was "With My Heart in Your Hands". Background Dog's Eye View founder and vocalist Peter Stuart had left the band to pursue solo projects following their 1997 release, '' Daisy''. Stuart, who had been a solo performer prior to forming Dog's Eye View, has stated that the idea of his making a solo album originally came from the group's record label, Columbia Records: Originally it was Columbia Records saying, "You're doing a solo record now. Peter Stuart
Peter Stuart is an American singer-songwriter. Stuart is the founder and lead singer of the band Dog's Eye View, which is best known for its single, "Everything Falls Apart". In 2002, he released a solo album entitled ''Propeller''. Biography Early life Stuart is a native of Glen Head, New York, on Long Island, His father died when he was eight years old, and the loss of his father was the topic of his first song. Stuart studied film at Northwestern University in Illinois, where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta college fraternity. Stuart graduated from Northwestern in 1989. Early career Stuart began his music career by performing in small venues, including clubs, coffee houses and college campuses. Miles Copeland III
Miles Axe Copeland III (born May 2, 1944) is an American music and entertainment executive and former manager of The Police. Copeland later managed Sting's musical and acting career. In 1979, Copeland founded the I.R.S. Records label, producing R.E.M., The Bangles, Berlin, The Cramps, Dead Kennedys, The Alarm, The Go-Go's, and others. Jay Bellerose
Jay Bellerose is an American drummer and percussionist known primarily for his session and live performance work. He has contributed to the work of many well-known artists. Biography Bellerose was born in Maine. A jazz enthusiast, he attended the Berklee College of Music where he worked with Paula Cole, Torsten de Winkel and others, and eventually went Los Angeles where he was part of Joe Henry's band. Bellerose has been influenced by blues and jazz, and his sound is in part derived from his vintage 1940s Slingerland Rolling Bomber kit. He often performs with shakers strapped to his ankles. He often uses a shallow 32-inch bass drum. Curt "Kirkee B." Bisquera is an American drummer known for his extensive work as a touring and session musician. Charlie Gillingham
Charles Thomas Gillingham (born January 26, 1960) is a keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist best known for his performance on the Hammond B-3 organ, accordion, piano, and keyboards for the band Counting Crows. He has also played the bass guitar in live shows during certain songs such as " Holiday in Spain". Gillingham attended Richard Henry Dana Junior High in San Pedro, California, and also attended Miraleste High School in Rancho Palos Verdes his sophomore, junior and senior year.
