Prope Ltd. is a now defunct Japanese video game development studio founded by Yuji Naka, a former Japanese video game programmer, designer and producer. Formation As part of Sega's "support program for independent game creators", Yuji Naka left Sega's Sonic Team studio to start his own studio, joined by ten Sonic Team members. It had a starting capital of 10 million yen, 10% of which came from Sega in exchange for the right of first refusal for publishing Prope games. Prope was founded on May 23, 2006 and it began operations on June 1, 2006. Prope intended to create games with a graphical style that appealed to both children and adults, and to explore the possibilities of developing both 3D and 2D games. Naka joined Square Enix in January 2018, leaving the status of Prope uncertain. In March 2019, Naka confirmed that Prope had been reduced to a one-person company since the end of April 2017. Yuji Naka
, credited in some games as YU2, is a Japanese video game programmer, video game designer, designer and video game producer, producer. He is the former head of the Sega studio Sonic Team, where he was the lead programmer of the original ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' series on the Sega Genesis, Sega Mega Drive. Naka also led development on games including ''Nights into Dreams'' (1996), ''Burning Rangers'' (1998), ''Sonic Adventure'' (1998) and three games in the ''Phantasy Star'' franchise (1987–2000). Ivy The Kiwi?
is a platform video game developed by Prope and designed by Yuji Naka. The Windows Mobile version was released in Japan in November 2009 and in North America in January 2010. That same year, versions for Wii and Nintendo DS were published by Namco Bandai Games in Japan, by Xseed Games in North America, and by Rising Star Games in Europe. The game was ported and released for iOS in October 2012 and Android in August 2013. Gameplay Concept The objective in the game is to lead the character, Ivy, a newly born bird, to her lost mother. The game is similar to '' Kirby: Canvas Curse'' because the player does not directly control the main character. In the game, Ivy is constantly moving directly right or left, unless presented with something in her way, in which case she turns around and moves the other direction. ''Let's Tap'' is a video game developed by Yuji Naka's studio Prope and published by Sega for the Wii console. Along with '' Let's Catch'', ''Let's Tap'' was the first game from Prope to be announced. Owners of ''Let's Tap'' can unlock content in ''Let's Catch''. The game was later released as five individual applications for iOS. Gameplay ''Let's Tap'' consists of a number of minigames that requires the player to tap a flat surface with their hands to play. The game requires the player to set the Wii Remote face-side down on a flat, stable surface, with the accelerometer picking up their vibrations as they tap the surface to move an on-screen character in a race, inflate a balloon, create ripples in a pool of water or paint swirls on a canvas. ''Let's Catch'' is a video game developed by Prope and published by Sega for the Wii console. It was released as a downloadable WiiWare game in Japan in December 2008, in worldwide in June 2009.
