The reactive involuting type, reactive Angioendotheliomatosis is an rare cutaneous condition characterized histologically by a dense proliferation of small capillaries, and occurs in people with various diseases including subacute bacterial endocarditis and end-stage atherosclerotic disease. These people present with various skin lesions and rashes - most commonly on the thighs. Treatment aimed at the underlying condition hastens the resolution of the lesions. The malignant type is an intravascular lymphoma, usually of the diffuse B-cell type, known as intravascular large B-cell lymphoma. Subacute bacterial endocarditis, abbreviated SBE, is a type of endocarditis (more specifically, infective endocarditis). Subacute bacterial endocarditis can be considered a form of type III hypersensitivity. Intravascular lymphomas (IVL) are rare cancers in which malignant lymphocytes proliferate and accumulate within blood vessels. Almost all other tyes of lymphoma involve the proliferation and accumulation of malignant lymphocytes in lymph nodes, other parts of the lymphatic system (e.g. the spleen), and various non-lymphatic organs (e.g. bone marrow and liver) but not in blood vessels. IVL fall into three different forms based on the type of lymphocyte causing the disease. Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVBCL), which constitutes ~90% of all IVL, is a lymphoma of malignant B-cell lymphocytes as classified by the World Health Organization, 2016.
