Progress Party (Iraq)
The Progress Party ( ar, حزب تقدم, translit=Ḥizb Taqadum), also known as the Al-Takadum Movement or by its Arabic short form Takadum (''Progress''), is an Iraqi political party formed to gain political control in the 2021 general election. The party seeks to establish a civil and modern state through a cultural societal change whose components are: a conscious citizen, a modern educational system, an effective society, according to an Iraqi vision framed by the constitution and supported by the youthful that believes in change and renewal. History The party was founded in 2019 by Mohamed Al Halbousi, the incumbent Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq, Ali Farhan,the governor of Anbar, and the politician Yahia Al Mohamadi. 2021 Iraqi Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Iraq on 10 October 2021. The elections decide the 329 members of the Council of Representatives who will in turn elect the Iraqi president and confirm the prime minister. 25 million voters are eligible to take part in Iraq's fifth parliamentary election since the 2003 US-led invasion and the first since the 2019 Iraqi October Revolution. Al Anbar Governorate ( ar, محافظة الأنبار; ''muḥāfaẓat al-’Anbār''), or Anbar Province, is the largest governorate in Iraq by area. Encompassing much of the country's western territory, it shares borders with Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. The population is mostly Sunni Muslims.
