Deja Entendu
''Deja Entendu'' ( French for " already heard") is the second studio album by American rock band Brand New, released on June 17, 2003 by Triple Crown Records and Razor & Tie. It was widely praised for showing the band's maturation from their pop punk debut ''Your Favorite Weapon'', and critics described the album as the moment when the band "started showing ambition to look beyond the emo/post-hardcore scene that birthed them." The album, considered the band's "breakthrough", was Brand New's first to chart in the United States (at number 63), and its two singles " The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" and " Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades" both reached the top 40 in the United Kingdom Singles Chart and earned MTV airplay. It was certified Gold nearly four years after its release. Its commercial success led to Brand New signing with DreamWorks/Interscope Records shortly after. The album received very positive reviews and has since been placed on numerous lists as one of th ...

Your Favorite Weapon
''Your Favorite Weapon'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Brand New, released in 2001. The album consists largely of power chord-heavy pop punk songs, detailing the highs and lows of teenage relationships and experiences. Over time, as the band's sound changed drastically, many songs from the album have been phased out of the band's live shows. A 2004 interview with ''Kerrang!'' described the band as feeling "somewhat ashamed" of the album. Background Vocalist/guitarist Jesse Lacey, bassist Garrett Tierney and drummer Brian Lane played in a band called The Rookie Lot with Brandon Reilly before the band eventually broke up. After a period of inactivity between Lacey, Tierney and Lane, the trio formed Brand New in Long Island, NY in 2000. The name came from Lane and Reilly. Reilly went on to play in The Movielife. Shortly afterwards, the band acquired guitarist Vincent Accardi, who had previously played in One Last Goodbye. The band self-released a demo, and the ...

DGC Records
DGC Records (an initialism for the David Geffen Company) was an American record label that operated as a division of Interscope Geffen A&M Records, which is owned by the Universal Music Group. History DGC Records was launched in 1990 as a subsidiary label of Geffen Records and was distributed by Warner Bros. Records until 1991, when it was acquired by MCA Music Entertainment Group. The label was created as a response to the success Geffen had with the harder rock acts on its roster. Though it initially focused on more progressive rock and heavy metal, as the decade progressed it also embraced the emergence of (and become a seminal label of) alternative rock, with influential acts like Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Hole, Weezer and Beck. The label also released early titles by hip hop band The Roots. In 1999, during the consolidation of Geffen's Universal Music Group parent and PolyGram, the DGC label ceased operations. The retained acts went on to record for the main Geffen label. ...

Daisy (Brand New Album)
''Daisy'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Brand New, released September 22, 2009 on Interscope. ''Daisy'' was co-produced by both the band and their longtime producer Mike Sapone. Brand New recorded the album in Sapone's studio in Bethpage, New York between 2008 and 2009. The band looked to channel their live performances, as well as the noise of bands such as Fugazi, Polvo, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus Lizard, in order to produce the raw and often chaotic sound of the album. Guitarist Vincent Accardi had a larger role in writing the album's lyrics, sharing the responsibility with frontman Jesse Lacey. The album leaked three weeks prior to its release, and the song "At the Bottom" was the only single released. ''Daisy'' received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised the band's continued progression, while fans were somewhat more divided, with drummer Brian Lane believing that they either seem to love it or hate it. It debuted at nu ...

Sowing Season
"Sowing Season", titled "Sowing Season (Yeah)" in certain copies, is a song by American rock band Brand New, which was released as the lead single for their 2006 album, '' The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me''. Two different versions of the track have been released. The demo titled "Yeah (Sowing Season)" first leaked in January 2006, and was not officially made available until 2015 when it was included as part of the '' Leaked Demos 2006'', whilst the reworked demo became the opening track "Sowing Season" on the band's 2006 album ''The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me''. Background An early incarnation of the track, known as "Yeah" was first described on the band's website in 2005, revealing that they had recorded it over the winter of 2004 and that "the refrain goes, "...YEAH!" and the middle eight is more like the chorus and it's got some loud guitars going on". In January 2006, a demo of the song was amongst nine tracks that leaked onto the internet, and was subsequent ...
