Pro Volleyball League
Pro Volleyball League (PVL) was a professional men's indoor volleyball league in India. The inaugural season took place in February 2019. The league was an initiative between the Volleyball Federation of India, Head Digital Works Pvt. Ltd. and Baseline Ventures. The inaugural season of the league was won by Chennai Spartans. Later in the year 2022 the league was rebranded as Prime Volleyball League. Structure The Pro Volleyball League encompassed six franchises, representing cities across India. All teams filed tenders with Baseline Ventures, listing the two cities they would be interested in bidding for. The teams were officially announced at a press conference in Mumbai. Teams Format Each team will have 12 players with the provision of a maximum of two reserve players. All teams have a salary purse of lakhs from which they pick their team via an auction and player draft. The Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) is the governing body of volleyball in India. History The Volleyball Federation of India was formed in the year 1951. Prior to the formation of the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI), the game was controlled by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and at that time the Interstate Volleyball Championship was held every two years from 1936 to 1950 for men only. The first Championship was held in the year 1936 at Lahore (now in Pakistan). In 1951, the Volleyball Federation of India was formed and its first meeting was held in Ludhiana (Punjab). Novica Bjelica ( sr, Новица Бјелица; born 9 February 1983) is a Serbian volleyball player, a member of Serbia men's national volleyball team and French club Stade Poitevin Poitiers, a participant of the 2008 Olympic Games, medalist of European Championship, World Cup and World League, 2009 Italian Champion, 2015 Montenegrin Champion. Career He won several medals with the national team in international competitions. Novica represented his country at the 2008 Olympic Games. Serbian team was eliminated in the quarter finals of the Olympic tournament. He won 2009 Italian Champion title with Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza. Then he was a player of another Italian teams from Treviso and Rome. Bjelica played season 2012/13 in Turkish Fenerbahçe Istanbul. Season 2013/14 he spent in Brazilian league as Minas Tênis Clube player. Next season he played for Budvanska Rivijera Budva and he achieved title of 2015 Montenegrin Champion.

David Lee (volleyball)
David Cameron Lee (born March 8, 1982) is an American volleyball player, currently working as the head coach for Indian Club, Bengaluru Torpedoes. As a member of the United States men's national volleyball team, he is an Olympic Champion at the 2008 Summer Olympics, an Olympic bronze medalist at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and a three-time Olympian (2008, 2012, 2016). Kochi Blue Spikers, commonly known as KBS, is a men's volleyball team from Kochi, Kerala playing in the Prime Volleyball League in India. The team was founded in 2018 and owned by Muthoot Pappachan Group. The team had participated in the only season of the dissolved Pro Volleyball League in 2019 before it switched to Prime Volleyball League in 2021.
