Priyadarshini Raje Scindia (née Gaekwad; born 16 February 1975) is married to the Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia. Biography Scindia was born in 1975. Her father, ''Kumar'' Sangramsinh Gaekwad, was the eighth child and third son of Pratap Singh Rao Gaekwad, the last maharaja of Baroda State, who ruled until 1951 when the state became a part of the Republic of India. Sophia College (Autonomous) is an undergraduate women's college established in 1941 by Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The Scindia dynasty (anglicized from Shinde) is a Hindu Maratha dynasty of maratha origin that ruled the erstwhile State of Gwalior. It had the Patil-ship of Kumberkerrab in Wai. It was founded by Ranoji Scindia, who started as a personal servant of the Peshwa Bajirao I. Ranoji and his descendents along with their rivals the Holkars, played a leading role during the Maratha ascendency in North india during the 18th century. The Gwalior state was a princely state under the British Raj during the 19th and the 20th centuries. The Scindia School is an Indian boarding school for boys, established in year 1897, and situated in the historic Gwalior Fort, in the city of Gwalior. It was originally started exclusively for royals and nobles of Indian princely states, particularly the Marathas, though it no longer discriminates on class. Usha Kiran Palace is a heritage hotel, adjacent to Jai Vilas Mahal on a 9-acre land in Gwalior built by the royal Scindia dynasty of the Marathas.
