Prisoners Of The Storm
''Prisoners of the Storm'' is a 1926 American silent Western film directed by Lynn Reynolds and starring House Peters, Peggy Montgomery, and Walter McGrail. Plot As described in a film magazine, Bucky Malone and his elder partner, Pierre LeGrande, prepare to close their northern mine to avoid being snowed in for the winter. Sergeant McClellan, of the Mounted Police, overhears them in a trivial quarrel, and, when he arrives at White Lake, their destination, he is one of a group of people who see LeGrande’s dog sledge pull in without LeGrande. McClellan hits the trail and finds evidence that LeGrande has been murdered. He suspects Malone, not knowing that the two miners parted at the mine. Attempting to make the arrest, he is wounded by Malone in a scuffle and carried by the latter to a cabin where his leg swells and brings on a high fever. Lynn Reynolds
Lynn Fairfield Reynolds (May 7, 1889 – February 25, 1927) was an American director and screenwriter. Reynolds directed more than 80 films between 1915 and 1928. He also wrote for 58 films between 1914 and 1927. Reynolds was born in Harlan, Iowa and died in Los Angeles, California, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Death Returning home in 1927 after being snowbound in the Sierras for three weeks, Reynolds telephoned his wife, actress Kathleen O'Connor, to arrange a dinner party at their Hollywood home with another couple. During the dinner, Reynolds and O'Connor engaged in a heated quarrel in which each accused the other of infidelity. With his guests following in an attempt to calm him down, Reynolds left the table to retrieve a pistol from another room where he shot himself in the head. Harry Todd (December 13, 1863 – February 15, 1935) was an American actor. He appeared in nearly 400 films between 1909 and 1935. Evelyn Selbie (July 6, 1871 – December 7, 1950) was an American stage actress and performer in both silent and sound films. Biography Born in Louisville, Kentucky, as a young woman Selbie was a sidesaddle rider. She had a career which lasted twenty-five years on the stage. She began in Proctor's stock companies in New York after leaving her home. She acted in plays like ''Human Hearts'' and '' The Cat and the Canary''. In the former production she starred for two seasons. Selbie also acted in the stock theater company that operated at the Grand Theater in Reno, Nevada. Then she ventured west where she tenured 18 months at the old Central Theatre in San Francisco, California. This was followed by a season in stock in San Diego, California and then a long one in Alaska with T.D. Frawley. During the Alaska tour Evelyn alternated leads with Virginia Thornton.
