Priscilla Queen Of The Desert
''The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert'' is a 1994 Australian road comedy film written and directed by Stephan Elliott. The plot follows two drag queens, played by Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce, and a transgender woman, played by Terence Stamp, as they journey across the Australian Outback from Sydney to Alice Springs in a tour bus that they have named "Priscilla", along the way encountering various groups and individuals. The film's title references the slang term "queen" for a drag queen or female impersonator. Stephan Elliott
Stephan Elliott (born 27 August 1964) is an Australian film director and screenwriter. His best-known film internationally is ''The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert'' (1994). Career Elliott began his career as an assistant director working in the boom of the Australian film industry of the 1980s. His first two feature films, '' Frauds'' (starring musician Phil Collins) and ''The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert'', along with his lesser known, shorter films ''Fast'' and ''The Agreement'' were produced by Rebel Penfold-Russell's Australian production company Latent Image Productions. Kings Canyon is a canyon in the Northern Territory of Australia located at the western end of the George Gill Range about southwest of Alice Springs and about south of Darwin within the Watarrka National Park. Description The walls of Kings Canyon are over 100 metres high, with Kings Creek at the bottom. Part of the gorge is a sacred Aboriginal site and visitors are discouraged from leaving the walking tracks. Three walks exist at Kings Canyon. Coober Pedy () is a town in northern South Australia, north of Adelaide on the Stuart Highway.
