Priscilla Mokaba
Priscilla Mokaba was a South African political activist. She was the mother of Peter Mokaba, a former deputy minister and member of parliament in South Africa. Priscilla was one of several political activists put in jail in South Africa during the 1980s. She was described as "a distinguished activist who had stood firm against the apartheid regime" by the African National Congress. Priscilla continued her services to her community until her death. It is reported that she was working with female soccer teams in her home country. She also taught beadwork and ran a "vegetable project." Mokaba died at the age of 76 on December 22, 2013. Peter Mokaba
Peter Mokaba, OLG (7 January 1959 – 9 June 2002) was a member of the South African parliament, deputy minister in the government of Nelson Mandela and president of the South African governing party's youth wing, the ANC Youth League. The Peter Mokaba Stadium, a Polokwane stadium used for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, was named after him. He was a friend of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, the former wife of Mandela. At the time of his death, he had been appointed to head the ANC electoral campaign in 2004, and his funeral was attended by former President Nelson Mandela, President Thabo Mbeki and Deputy President Jacob Zuma. Julius Malema has described Mokaba as a personal hero.
