Princess Tabu
''Princess Tabu'' is the second studio album by Australian vocal duo, and sisters, Vika & Linda Bull. It was released in August 1996 and debuted and peaked at number 30 on the Australian ARIA albums chart. According to Vika and Linda's website, the title is inspired by fairytale or fable about twin sisters. Their mother died in childbirth, and they were separated for ten years, they grew up alone, and apart. One was called Princess 'Ta', and the other, Princess 'Bu'. Vika and Linda, also known as Vika and Linda Bull, are an Australian vocal duo consisting of Vika Susan Bull (born 1966) and her younger sister, Linda Rose Bull . They came to prominence after singing backing vocals in Joe Camilleri's band The Black Sorrows from 1988. They left that group early in 1994 to start their duo with a self-titled album appearing in June that year. The duo scored their first number 1 album in 2020, with their retrospective '' 'Akilotoa: Anthology (1994-2006)''. Mark Denis Lizotte (born 31 May 1966) is an American-born Australian singer-songwriter and musician, who has released material under the name Diesel, Johnny Diesel, as leader of band Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, and as a solo performer, as well as under his birth name. Two of his albums reached No. 1 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Albums Charts, '' Hepfidelity'' in 1992 and '' The Lobbyist'' in 1993. The album was released in August 1999 and debuted and peaked at number 34 on the Australian ARIA Charts in September 1999. Australian music journalist Ian McFarlane described the album as an "inspired song selection ranging from blues and gospel to reggae and soul." The 11th Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as the ARIA Music Awards) were held on 22 September 1997 at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney. The ARIA Music Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album, is an award presented at the annual ARIA Music Awards, which recognises "the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres", since 1987. It is handed out by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), an organisation whose aim is "to advance the interests of the Australian record industry."
