Princess Royal Of Portugal
This is a list of Princesses Royal of Portugal (or more formally Princess Royal of the Kingdom of Portugal and the Algarves). The title is, since 1815, carried either in her own right by the heiress to the throne, as a substantive title, or by the wife of the heir to the throne, the Prince Royal of Portugal, as a courtesy title. It was preceded by the titles Princess of Brazil and Princess of Portugal. The title was created in 1815 when John VI (at the time Prince-Regent) elevated colonial Brazil to the status of kingdom inside the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves (thus forcing the extinction of the until then used title Prince of Brazil). The heir became the Princess Royal of the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves. When Brazil declared its independence, the title was changed to the current state. The holders of the title were styled Royal Highness (HRH) and were also Duchesses of Braganza, Duchesses of Guimarães, Duchesses of Barcelos, ...

GWR 3031 Class
The Dean Single, 3031 Class, or Achilles Class was a type of steam locomotive built by the British Great Western Railway between 1891 and 1899. They were designed by William Dean for passenger work. The first 30 members of the class were built as 2-2-2s of the 3001 Class. The first eight members of the class (numbers 3021-3028, built April–August 1891) were built as convertible broad gauge 2-2-2 locomotives, being converted to standard gauge in mid-1892, at the end of broad gauge running on the Great Western Railway. A further 22 were built in late 1891 and early 1892, this time as standard gauge engines. Although the 3001 class were fitted with larger boilers than earlier GWR 2-2-2 classes, the diameter of the boiler was constrained by its position between the driving wheels. Thus boiler capacity could only be increased by making the boiler longer, not wider, bringing the smokebox and cylinders in front of the leading axle. The extra weight of the larger boilers was bo ...

LMS Princess Royal Class
The London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Princess Royal Class is a class of express passenger 4-6-2 steam locomotive designed by William Stanier. Twelve examples were built at Crewe Works, between 1933 and 1935, for use on the West Coast Main Line. Two are preserved. Overview The Princesses are related to the GWR 6000 Class (also known as the King Class), the general outline essentially being a King with a larger firebox supported by additional trailing wheels. This origin is explained by the designer William Stanier coming from the GWR to the LMS. When originally built, they were used to haul the famous ''Royal Scot'' train between London Euston and Glasgow Central. Construction A prototype batch of three locomotives was to be constructed in 1933. Two were constructed as drawn but the third set of frames was retained as the basis for an experimental turbine locomotive. Turbomotive The third prototype was constructed with the aid of the Swedish Ljungstrom tu ...

Madame Royale
''Madame Royale'' ({{IPA-fr, madam ʁwajal, ''Royal Lady'') was a style customarily used for the eldest living unmarried daughter of a reigning French monarch. It was similar to the style '' Monsieur'', which was typically used by the King's second son. Just as Gaston, duc d'Orléans (1608–1660), the second son of King Henry IV of France (1553–1610), was known as '' Monsieur'', Élisabeth de Bourbon (1602–1644), the eldest daughter of Henry, was known before her marriage to King Philip IV of Spain (1605–1665) as ''Madame Royale''. After her death, the title was borne by her younger sister, Christine de Bourbon (1606–1663), until her marriage to Victor Amadeus I, Duke of Savoy (1587–1637). The most famous holder of this honorific was King Louis XVI of France's eldest daughter, Marie-Thérèse-Charlotte (1778–1851), the only one of his immediate family to survive the French Revolution. She later married her cousin, Louis-Antoine, duc d'Angoulême (1775–1844), a ...
