Princess ''Maria Ana'' Rafaela Micaela Gabriela Lourença of Braganza, , full Portuguese language, Portuguese name: ''Maria Ana Rafaela Micaela Gabriela Lourença de Bragança, '' (3 September 1899 – 23 June 1971) was a member of the House of Braganza and the wife of Karl August, 10th Prince of Thurn and Taxis. Family Maria Anna was born at Schloss Fischhorn in Zell am See, Austria-Hungary (now in Austria), the fourth daughter of the Miguelist pretender to the Portuguese throne Miguel, Duke of Braganza and his second wife Princess Maria Theresa of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg. Maria Anna's father was the head of the non reigning branch of the Portuguese Royal House that had been exiled from Portugal. Prince Miguel Januário of Braganza (; full name Miguel Maria Carlos Egídio Constantino Gabriel Rafael Gonzaga Francisco de Paula e de Assis Januário de Bragança; 19 September 1853 – 11 October 1927) was the Miguelist claimant to the throne of Portugal from 1866 to 1920. Early life Miguel Januário was born in Castle Kleinheubach, near Miltenberg, Kingdom of Bavaria, on 19 September 1853 during the exile in Germany of his father, former King Miguel I of Portugal and the Algarves. Schloss Höfling is a Baroque castle in Regensburg, Bavaria. In 1985 the castle, which is owned by the House of Thurn and Taxis, was leased for one hundred years to the Walderdorff family. History The castle takes its name from the von Höfling family. The first mention of the name was Friedrich von Höfling, a provost of Prüfening Abbey in the 1150s. The first castle, a medieval fortress, was first mentioned in 1259 in a peace agreement between Louis II, Duke of Bavaria and the City of Regensburg. Louis II had occupied the castle and returned it to the citizens of the city. The Capellan family then owned it until it was sold to a monastery in 1265. The present castle was built in the 18th century by Baron Xaver Ignaz Reichlin von Meldegg, a member of the princely court of Thurn und Taxis. It was consecrated in 1755 in a Catholic ceremony. Schloss Taxis (originally known as Burg Trugenhofen) is a privately owned castle in Dischingen in the Heidenheim district of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. The castle is owned by the princely house of Thurn und Taxis and is not open for visitors. History Originally built in the 13th century for the von Trugenhofen family, the castle was later owned by the Öttingern, the Helfenstein and the Katzenstein families.
