Princess Erika
Princess Erika (born Erika Dobong'na; 5 April 1964, Paris) is a French singer and actress with Cameroonian origins. She is particularly known for her reggae songs "Trop de bla-bla" ou "Faut qu'j'travaille". Biography In 1982, Erika formed with her sisters a band named Blackheart Daughters, then joined the band Princess and the Royal Sound, with whom she made several tours, opening for Jamaican singer Dennis Brown. In 1988, she recorded "Trop de bla-bla" in London and achieved a minor success in France (#39 on the Top 50, but later, the song became famous for being used for a TV advert for MMA). She released the single "Tendresse" and her first album in 1992. She opened the concerts for Les Négresses Vertes. In 1995, she released her second studio album, ''D'origine'', and the lead single, "Faut qu'j'travaille", hit No. 15 in France. Ragga
Raggamuffin music, usually abbreviated as ragga, is a subgenre of dancehall and reggae music. The instrumentals primarily consist of electronic music. Similar to hip hop, sampling often serves a prominent role in raggamuffin music. Wayne Smith's " Under Mi Sleng Teng", produced by King Jammy in 1985 on a Casio MT-40 synthesizer, is generally recognized as the seminal ragga song. "Sleng Teng" boosted Jammy's popularity immensely, and other producers quickly released their own versions of the riddim, accompanied by dozens of different vocalists. Ragga is now mainly used as a synonym for dancehall reggae or for describing dancehall with a deejay chatting rather than singjaying or singing on top of the riddim. Dennis Emmanuel Brown CD (1 February 1957 – 1 July 1999) was a Jamaican reggae singer. During his prolific career, which began in the late 1960s when he was aged eleven, he recorded more than 75 albums and was one of the major stars of lovers rock, a subgenre of reggae. Les Négresses Vertes, which formed in 1987, is a French music group that combines world music and some aspects of alternative rock. 2004 Al Hoceima Earthquake
The 2004 Al Hoceima earthquake occurred on 24 February at 02:27:47 local time near the coast of northern Morocco. The strike-slip earthquake measured 6.3 on the moment magnitude scale and had a maximum perceived intensity of IX (''Violent'') on the Mercalli intensity scale. Between 628 and 631 people were killed, 926 were injured, and up to 15,000 people were made homeless in the Al Hoceima- Imzourene- Beni Abdallah area. Pierre-Mathieu Vilmet (; born September 7, 1964 in Paris), professionally known as Pierpoljak, is a French reggae and pop singer. Biography Pierre Vilmet was born in Paris and grew up in the Parisian suburbs, first in Savigny-sur-Orge and then in Colombes. At the end of the 1970s, he played drums with the punk group ''Samu 92'', who nicknamed him "Pierrot le Fou". In 1978, he went to London to meet his favorite groups, like Sham 69 or Skrewdriver; there, he lived in a squat, where he discovered reggae. In 1995, after several prison stretches, then based in the department of Nièvre, Pierre decided to record his first solo album at home.
