Prince Hamzah Bin Hussein
Hamzah bin Hussein, ( ar, حمزة بن الحسين; born 29 March 1980) is the fourth son of King Hussein bin Talal of Jordan overall and the first by his American-born fourth wife, Queen Noor. He was named Crown Prince of Jordan in 1999, a position he held until his older half-brother, King Abdullah II, rescinded it in 2004. He is a member of the Hashemite dynasty, the royal family of Jordan since 1921, and is a 41st-generation direct descendant of Muhammad. Hamzah is currently believed to be under house arrest since April 2021, after being accused of attempting to destabilise the Kingdom of Jordan and fomenting unrest. Princess Noor bint Asem ( ar, نور بنت عاصم; born 6 October 1982) is a member of the Jordanian Royal Family. Family Her father is Prince Asem bin Al Nayef, a grandson of King Abdullah I of Jordan and her mother is Firouzeh Vokhshouri. Her mother lives in Madrid, Spain, where she is an attaché for the Jordanian Embassy. Princess Noor's parents divorced in 1985 and in 1986 her father married Princess Sana Asem. The Arab Legion () was the police force, then regular army of the Emirate of Transjordan, a British protectorate, in the early part of the 20th century, and then of independent Jordan, with a final Arabization of its command taking place in 1956, when British senior officers were replaced by Jordanian ones. Creation In October 1920, after taking over the Transjordan region from the Ottoman Empire, Ottomans, the United Kingdom formed a unit of 150 men called the "Mobile Force", under the command of Captain Frederick Gerard Peake, to defend the territory against both internal and external threats. The Mobile Force was based in Zarqa. 80% of its men were drawn from the Chechens in Jordan, local Chechen community. The Order of Military Merit (''Wisam al-Istahaqaq al-Askari'') is an order of the Kingdom of Jordan. History It was instituted in 1976 by King Hussein bin Talal. The Order of Military Merit is awarded for distinguished services by members of the Jordanian armed forces and foreign military officials.
